may have been scheduled before Powell's meeting. On friday Tony promised a 'senior official' for today, looks like everyone else was too busy (or Card drew the short straw;-).

Yesterday, during an interview with Bob Novak and Bob Hunt, Biden skewered Joe LIEberman for having Bibi speak to the Senators, essentially criticizing the President for his stance on the Palestinian Authority. There was Biden with a straight face, saying it was improper to criticize the President during this difficult time and while Powell was in the middle east.

"This is an effort to get Arafat to use the mechanisms that have been given him (MTP just came on for me) I think Condi showed some of the 'strategery', when she said that arafart had gained stature and had to use it. He has now been given the chance to lead, if he won't nobody can say he wasn't given the opportunity.

Where are Gephardt and Daschle...weren't they whining all week that they don't get enough "face time"?
I only caught The George Stephanopoulos Show starting with the final minutes of the segment with King Abdullah II of Jordan.
It looked, to me, like George S. had no (current) US big-wigs on the program.
Are they boycotting George? Will the big-wigs be on This Week, next week, when Sam and Cokie are back?

Does Michael Kinsley (liberal hack on This Week) have AIDS? He's looking thinner than I'm used to seeing him, and he has the oft-used "skin covering" beard.
Just wondering.

Boy...is this guy BAD!! I second that motion....he made me want to scream!!
I just saw this on t.v. and I am curious. Why did he make you want to scream?
Was it because he wouldn't be led to an answer that Tony Snow had in mind?
Was it because he wouldn't just go along with the truth as Tony Snow wanted to present it?
Or was it because he's not an accomplished actor and liar like so many of the people on these t.v. shows?
Just curious. Enquiring minds want to know.
I'm off to church, will check replies later.

The George Stephanopoulos Show ...You've got that right. This clown is being touted as a "journalist"????? Good God. He's a freaking CLINTOON ADVISER, for God's sakes!! ABC brass should be ashamed for putting him as the host of a show.
This is an audition for George Step-on-all-of-us, believe me. An audition.

Now here is where the Bush logic toward Israel contradicts our own policy. If we apply the same logic to our war on terrorism, then we should stop attacking the Islamic terrorists. We should pull out of Afghanistan before we incite even more hatred toward us. We should abandon any plan to attack Iraq, lest we inspire more Islamic hatred toward us around the world. After all, there are 1.3 billion of them.
So when we are attacked by Islamic terrorists in the future, lets just scold them and tell them that we love them and please dont hate us so. Lets not attack them lest we inspire more hatred toward us.

"Allies" they ain't, not by a long shot.
Ain't no such a thing as allies
To Quote CHURCHILL
" In international affairs there are no such things as allies, only nations with like interests"

Why did he make me want to scream? There is absolutely nothing wrong with saying "I can't answer that" or "I don't know the answer to that". It works for Rumsfeld.

I like Andy Card. He recognizes that even on the fair and balanced network, he dosn't have all of the information regarding the Powell/Arafat meeting. After, the meeting had just broken up, just prior to his appearance on FOX. Condi was in a better position because she was in the briefing with Tenet and others prior to her appearance on MTP. I think both Card and DR. RIce conduct themselves with professional decorum whenever they appear on TV.
I agree with Britt, that the moral attitude regarding the Bush doctrine as it relates to terrorism. However, I think he is too personally close to the issue to see clearly just what the president is attempting to do. He needs to talk with Condi and clear up any fog he seems to be in on this issue. Even Fred the far right conservative seems to get it.

Can't wait to hear Buchanan. He is probably one of the few truth-telling, pro-American pundits around who tell it like it is and doesn't recite the same anti-American talking points.
There is only one solution and every honest person knows what that is. Israel should have secure borders and so should the Palestinians. If Sharon and Arafat can't set the border, the USA (as the only superpower) should.

Also, there's little difference between a human bomb and an IDF cluster bomb or frag rocket from a US - supplied F16 or Apache helicopter, fired indiscriminately at civilian houses, levelling them, killing all inhabitants, men, women, and children, then bringing in bulldozers to bury all the evidence in the ground. That's a war crime. That's an atrocity. As a retired member of the US Air Force, I was a participant in bombing, via combat aircraft, Cambodian, Granadian, Panaminiam, and Iraqi targets that did result in civilian deaths. I feel no shame. I am sorry it had to come to that, but we were after military targets, and yes, innocent civilians were killed. I'm sorry, but I see a distinction between legitimate warfare, even though cruel, and the PURPOSEFUL bombing of innocents, where NO MILITARY target exists.
This is the hinge of my support for Israel and condemnation of the PA. After much careful thought and analysis, I am in the Israeli camp on this one. As far as Justin's site, and Mike Rivero for that matter, I simply must disagree. I have heard all they have to offer and simply will not sucumb to half-truths, lies, and innuendos. Sorry.
This morning in Church, our priest's homily was about the resurrection and the early days of persecution of the Church. He alluded to the Sahadrin member who said, "If Jesus is from man, then this will pass; but if He is from God, than it (the Church) will endure forever." He linked this to the fact that Rome, the power of that day, is no more. They prosecuted the church and the Jews, but both the Church and the Jews endure to this day. He ascribes this to the Hand of God. I agree.

The FOXNEWS show after the Fox News Sunday show, had Dennis Ross and two other talkers. Dennis Ross said earlier this week that he has spent more time with Yasser than anyone and he is the sole reason that there has not been an agreement. He says that there will be no agreement until we can deal with more rational Palistinis.

Ok, found the passage I cited above: Acts, Chapter 5:
38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men (Peter and the Apostles), and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

On
Meet the Press, the Israeli spokesman, Dore Gold, was excellent. The Pali spokesman was, gee, I was going to say "horrible", but if you are a Clintonian Carvile-like Spinmaster observer, he was effective in that vein.
Dr. Gold told the truth: example
1. There were no airstrikes in Janine
2. The Pali's response was to talk over him, smile, interrupt, inject some other lie, etc. The Pali spokesman, Kidwa, spoke over, and over, and over again about War Crimes! and the like. He kept trying to bring in terms like International Law!, like his side is law abiding by having women detonate explosives on their backs to kill and maim Israeli infants.
In the movies, when the bad guys lie, it is obvious. Then the good guy breaks their head open (Braveheart). In real-life, when the bad guys lie, and we break for a commercial.
