I dunno who he/she was. It was the handle of a freeper poster long ago who apparently had some "insights" into world happenings. Perhaps some more knowledgable FReepers could help out on who he/she actually was/is.

"Who or what is Quidam?"

"Quidam" was someone who, during the desperate days of the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal, claimed to have inside knowledge of the White House through some sort of very sensitive position in intelligence, or somesuch (I don't think he ever really explained.) He posted extremely vague prophecies, ostensibly to protect his position, that drove the rest of us to distraction. All of us Freepers at the time where half hysterical, wondering if Clinton's well-documented cocaine usage during the 1980's had anything to do with the Monica Lewinsky scandal or not.

I do not know what happened to him, and I do not know if he was really legitimate or not.

All I remember about Quidam was "Trust Starr" and a bunch of beatnik-sounding profundities about "the turtle" and other Jack Handy-style "Deep Thoughts". It was all a load of crap and he was wrong about nearly everything. Once it was clear that Starr was a eunuch and the Clinton mob would skate, Quidam disappeared.
