Did you know that the site at that "Quidam" link offered OVER 50 cookies?Sounds like something Quidam would do :)
(Sorry, I didn't know, I only had one cookie on from that site on my machine.)
This guy might be able to help with the clean-up though

I dunno. I had a pretty entertaining freep-mail from him when he was drunk. Most lovable bigot since Archie Bunker.

Nope.

It seems that if someone begins to be too popular, that person is soon removed.LOL, In that case I have nothing to worry about. :-}
You make a good point.

"Who or what is Quidam?" "Quidam" was someone who, during the desperate days of the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal, claimed to have inside knowledge of the White House through some sort of very sensitive position in intelligence, or somesuch (I don't think he ever really explained.) He posted extremely vague prophecies, ostensibly to protect his position, that drove the rest of us to distraction. All of us Freepers at the time where half hysterical, wondering if Clinton's well-documented cocaine usage during the 1980's had anything to do with the Monica Lewinsky scandal or not.
I do not know what happened to him, and I do not know if he was really legitimate or not.

Welcome back! Now go and sin no more! (Not that anything is up to me, I just Freep here)

No, it was another and I still can't remember his name.

Good story but I think it has grown over the years. If the house was on a 40 ft. bluff I don't think the storm surge (big wave) would have reached it. I have never heard of a storm surge of more than 15 to 20 ft. at most, especially with such a minimal (60 MPH) hurricane. Survival stories are wonderful to read tho' & really do occur.

Nice to see you back, Joe. Our trigger-happy Moderators of Doom have been busy again, eh?
To: Rodney King
Maybe JimRob will let him freep again if he installs a BAC monitor on his computer that shuts down when he is above .25.Statist! ;)

Well thanks to all of you. I was just wondering what happened. Although he was different I loved to read his rants. When I said "enlightened" I should have put sarcasm behind it. I didn't mean to express that he was actually enlightened, although he was on a different level. thanks for the responses. God Bless.

I have been checking records like you told me to & I have not been able to come up with a 40 ft. storm surge for Camille or any other hurricane. The Saffir-Simpson Scale says a catagory 5 hurricane like Camille can be expected to have an 18ft storm surge. Camille was said to have a 24 ft storm tide which is the storm surge on top of high tide. The most powerful storm to hit was in the Florida Keys & it only had a storm surge of 15 ft. I have also never heard of a hurricane traveling at 60 MPH. The charts say 30+MPH for the fastest ones, thats a long way from 60MPH.
