This copy of a note left behind by former Enron Corp. executive John Clifford Baxter, who killed himself in January, was released Thursday, April 11, 2002 in Sugar Land, Texas. The Sugar Land Police Department released the five-sentence note immediately after the Texas attorney general's office issued an opinion that the document was a public record because of public interest in Enron and Baxter's possible role in its downfall. Could this guy print or what?!

The print looks a little to "sterile"...

Pure selfishness. Leaving the wife and kids to suffer because HE cant live with the position HE put himself in.

Well, I can see why the family didn't want it released. It doesn't shed a whole lot of information on the Enron scandal, and it's pretty personal to them.

I vehemently disagree that such a note is a public record. It serves no public interest to publish such a private note while his family is still dealing with his suicide. (JMO, as the brother of a suicide victim.)

Suicide is usually all about "me."

I agree, that should have been kept personal for the family.

It would be interesting to hear from Handwriting Experts on the comparative difficulty to verify the source of printed vs. cursive writing.
I print many things because of several years on the Drawing Board in Design work. That's kind of common in the Engineering fields. Wonder what Cliff's background was?

Suicide is a totally irrational act. The survivors only drive themselves nuts trying to comprehend it.

It was in the Houston news recently that there was unexplained blood on the ground outside the car and Baxter had abrasions on his hand (as I recall) and I think they also said some glass was imbedded in his hand. Very interesting.

Suicide is usually all about "me." How about unbearable physical or mental pain; or a manifestation of mental illness? What arrogance to assume you may judge such an unknowable and personal state of mind.

Call me whatever but i don't believe one iota about this so-called suicide. I don't trust anybody. I feel this whole government is basically corrupt. There is more truth in Pravda than our regular news media outlets. No difference in this note than in Vince Fosters.

Oh brother. It's not like there haven't been a million studies on this, including interviews with people who made unsuccessful attempts.
Not all generalizations are arrogant judgments. Some happen to be generally correct.

Except this one hasn't been torn into many pieces and still has the signature "Cliff". We didn't get that much with Foster's note...

people who made unsuccessful attempts.A real unsuccessful attempt is a rare occurence. Most don't really try that hard.

"and still has the signature "Cliff".
Actually it's a Printed "Cliff", which to me IS strange. Although I print most everything else, I "Sign" my name.

. . .unexplained blood on the ground outside the car...In TV discussion about Baxter details, this point was raised.
I surfed in late--where they were just making a point that the odd "ratshot" load [small, shotgun-like pellets] in the suicide cartridge was probably untraceable.
Then someone brought up the point that the body had been removed from the car and placed on ground outside , accounting for blood.
Eyebrows went up at the further point that Baxter's body had then been replaced back into the driver's seat.
When asked about this detail, the coroner being interviewed stated, "That's a good question!"
But he had no answer.

How come it doesn't say "Love" or "Luv" Cliffy?
