Michael Moore busted plagiarizing??
Salon ^ | April 10, 2002 | Ben Fritz

A list of 48 dubious achievements of President Bush appears in Michael Moore's bestselling "Stupid White Men," but without footnotes or any citations of any kind. A reader may assume that they are accumulated pearls of Moore's very own wisdom.

But a San Francisco activist says she came up with the list, and she's not too happy about the way Moore is using it.....

That's all that's on the link, the rest is a "premium article". Nice scoop, apparently. Let's see if the mainstream media picks up on it. :snicker:

I can't believe a San Francisco liberal would be so bourgois as to assert intellectual property rights. All property is owned by the people, right?

Wonder if this "activist" is associated in any way with the Chronically Wrongicle, which is notorious for plagiarizing Hugh Hewitt.

IS MOORE A PLAGIARIST? It looks very much like it. Salon and Spinsanity have the goods. Here's the relevant extract:
A list of 48 dubious achievements of President Bush appears in Michael Moore's bestselling "Stupid White Men," without footnotes or citations of any kind. A reader might assume that they are accumulated nuggets from Moore's own research. But a San Francisco activist says she came up with the list, and she's not too happy about the way Moore is using it. Kirsten Selberg contacted Spinsanity following a piece detailing the numerous errors and factual distortions in "Stupid White Men" to say she compiled that list for a wall that was displayed at the "Voters March West" that took place nearly a year ago in San Francisco, on May 19. Still posted on the Voters March Web site, Selberg's list contains 47 of the 48 facts about Bush mentioned in Moore's book -- in the exactly the same order and with very similar wording. The only difference is that, unlike Moore, Selberg provides sources for almost all of her facts. Representatives for Moore did not respond to requests for comment.
Recall that the Boston Globe suspended conservative columnist Jeff Jacoby for similar Internet copying. Any chance that the media will apply the same standards to a liberal?

This is bad news in a way. I hope the media ignores this and covers up for Moore. He is so lusciously good for conservatives. His ramblings are so pathetic as to embarass even the reviewers of the Times. He is a disgusting hate filled ignorant man and that his book is the number one seller on the Left causes concern and even reflection on the more thinking members of the Left- and even defection in the long run. I say- if the Left wants to hold up Moore as a standard bearer- let them. He does them more harm than us. Shhhhh- keep the fact that he is fraud under raps. Let him rant on I say!

Ironically, he plagiarized Doris Kearns Goodwin.

Yeah, but with liberals the end always justifies the means; just look at the Kennedys and the Clintons.

You know, I'm seriously beginning to wonder if any "name" authors actually write anymore, or if they merely plagarize each others' research assistants. If so, I just pray this literary "outing" fad lasts long enough to nab Antonia Fraser and Alison Weir.

They would suspend him but so far they've not been able to find a rope strong enough to hold the fat bastard.

My take.

I don't trust any liberal, ever.

Nothing will be done about Michael Moron's plagiarism that amounts to any real punishment.

Attention to the list and to Michael Moron's silly drivel of a book will occur.

This is simply another method of veiled mudslinging in which born liars indulge.

Nah, he is way too dumb to think even 2 moves ahead.

Did you ever hear Michael Moore talk about he came up with the idea for Post-It Notes?

Interesting Reading on Mike's Book tour Diary! Here is an Excerpt:

"I am being evicted today, Good Friday, from my office. I had just one week left to edit my film, but the landlord -- heartless bastard! -- is having me tossed out for non-payment of rent. Back in October, my publisher, HarperCollins, was supposed to pay me for the work I did in writing "Stupid White Men." Citing "the tragic events of 9-11" (a mantra that seems to have been repeated by every business in America as they've shamelessly used the dead of that day to justify their obscene layoffs and cutbacks) the publisher claimed they did not have to pay me until the book was "published..."

Here is the Link In case anyone wants to read the rest...

And I suggest you read it! heheh Ya Know Sometimes KARMA is a Real Bitch... Eh Michael?
