Just a random thought here, but speaking of Darwinism, why is it that left-wingers wholeheartedly support Darwin in the Science class but not in society at large? If they truly believed in Darwinism wouldn't warning labels, smoking bans and welfare be non-existent?

And for that matter, why is it you never see Creationists take issue with the Darwin Awards?

I have wondered about that a time or two. I have come to the conclusion that liberals think they are smarter than God. Faced with the sometimes cruel realities of the world (such as social Darwinism), they are unable to deal with the fact that the sun isn't always shining-God never promised that-charity is supposed to come into play here-the VOLUNTARY assistance given by a person or organization to those less fortunate. But since liberals believe we must give equally to every human whether they are a deserving individual or one who seeks to take advantage of those who work hard for what they have, they dream up programs to force the rest of us save everyone, no matter their condition or motives.

Not to defend liberalism, but there is a difference between claiming that Darwinism is an accurate description of the history of life on Earth, and claiming that is provides a model of the ideal human society. Not that I think liberals understand the difference.

Excellent question. It's almost counter-intuative the way leftists think. Evolution must be a fact, yet there is something wrong with the idea that some groups of humans have established a higher standard of living than others. Even among the poorest societies there is disparity between those with initiative and those that think they're owed a free ride, with quite a few folks somewhere in between. The problem with the left is that they want everyone equal, and the only way to do that is to bring everyone down to the lowest level.
