Farmers Beware! New York Dairy problems linked to Sabotage.

New York State police are investigating multiple incidents in Wyoming county and in neighboring Livingston county where some unknown culprits have been contaminating milk in bulk tanks with antibiotics. In some cases, the antibiotics were mysteriously injected into the cows themselves. It has been estimated that about 48,000 gallons of milk has been rendered useless due to these crimes. There have been fourteen seperate incidents reported thus far.

As most rural New Yorkers are aware, Dairy Farming is the number one business Upstate. In Wyoming County alone it's a 116 million dollar industry, per year.

While the police are somewhat baffled over these senseless pranks, and the local newspapers won't publicize rumor and inuendo as to the likely suspects involved, we at the Chenango Hills Patriot feel otherwise.

Some of us have heard about 'People for the ethical treatment of animals' or PETA. Some of us have heard of the 'Earth Liberation Front' or ELF. Some of us are aware that while no direct evidence undoubtedly links either of these aforementioned groups to this criminal activity, they are definitely prime suspects, for good reason.

We sincerely wish the NY State Police success in their investigation.

To All Dairy Farmers, we say: Watch your Bulk Tanks.

Watch your tails miscreants, someone might mistake you for a common pest around the barnyard and deal with you as such.

Wannabe's might become copycats, and really bad guys might take a lesson.

FARMERS BEWARE! We cannot expect the Feds or the LEO's to guard private property.

Upstate New York is a pretty apathetic population...but whatever one does, DO NOT F*** WITH MILK FARMERS. May sound funny to outsiders, but trust me: if there is ONE thing in Upstate NY that the population cares about, especially power-weilding politicians, it's dairy farming.
