Washington -- Yasser Arafat knows what he's doing. He's playing "rope-a-dope" to the Israeli Defense Force.
Remember how Muhammad Ali did it? When he saw, to his horror, that he could not hurt George Foreman in the great "Rumble in the Jungle," Ali went over to the ropes and just stood there. He let ferocious Foreman pound away at him until Foreman ran out of gas.

President GWB knows that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. This is the situation in Israel/West Bank/Palestine and no matter what our policy is here, the two sides have to want to negotiate. At the present time they certainly don't?
Sissy Matthews is aware of this, but he wants to grandstand and pretend to know more than President GWB does. Fat chance Matthews will ever attain this goal?
Mr. Matthews, the ball goes where you hit it...Arafat isn't through milking the world with his truculent ebbs and flows of deceit; peace is the furthermost thing from the little Terrorist's mind. Sharon, unlike other leaders and diplomats, can clearly see the lies and where they always lead; Sharon is not campaigning for some office and for fear of losing votes from whiners and activists, is taking them on, on terms they can understand.
Israel is primarily made up of Jews for Jews since the time of Abraham; Palestine on the other hand is sort of an alphabet soup of Arabs who have come from other regions in the area, have no real homeland, no language and other than Islam, no past. They are led by the Terrorist Arafat whose soul goal is to eliminate the Jew and Israel by Genocide...if not this year; next year. There can be no peace when your children from grade school on are taught to hate, that it is their duty to destroy the Jew and take his homeland.
Arafat is the perpetrator, he is the Evil one and he has lots of help from others in his region who want the genocide to work. Empathy for this man and his people...I think not!
I'm afraid my empathy ran out on Sept. 11.
I certainly hope you sent this to Terrafat-appologist Motor Mouth Matthews.
The Bible teaches us that he who has mercy for the merciless ( in this case muslims murderers ), can have no mercy for their victims.
It's right out of the Bible. We can now clearly see how people like Matthews really feel about the thousands of American victims of muslim murder on 9 11 and the hundreds and thousands of Jewish victims of muslim murders.
Matthews Bush should "express empathy for the Islamic world". Lets look around the world to see if Matthews is justified to have empathy for the Islamic world or if he is actually showing mercy to the merciless. 2 million Black Sudanese christians have been murdered by the Muslim regime in the Sudan. Should righteous people show empathy for the muslims of the Sudan? 300,000 Lebanese Christians slaughtered by the Muslims in the civil wars of that country which basically turned a Christian country in the middle east to an Islamic country. Should Matthews show empathy for the muslims in Lebanon? 200,000 Indonesian christians have been murdered by the Indonesian muslims. Should Matthews show empathy for the Islamic world for what they have done in Indonesia? In the Phillipines, on the Island of Luzan, the muslim minority has been blowing up school buses. They have been blowing up Catholic school girls and slitting the throats of priests and nuns. Should the Roman Catholic Matthews have empathy for the Islamic world for what they have done in the Phillipines? I could go on and on and say Matthews is expressing empathy for the Islamic world which for decades has been trying to exterminate the peaceful Hindu people of India but I think I made my point.
The point is clear. Matthews wants Bush to express his feelings of empathy for an Islamic world which has been butchering countless millions of innocent non muslims and which has declared war on the entire world. He who has mercy for the merciless, can have no mercy for their victims.
