Tehran, April 7, IRNA -- Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Osman
Ismail said here Sunday that arms shipment and dispatch of troops by
Islamic countries to Palestine was the best assistance to the popular
uprising in the occupied lands.
"I stress that if we could put arms and troops at the disposal
of Palestinians, we will have made the best assistance but the
stance of some countries neighboring Israel has made the realization
of this issue difficult," he told IRNA.
"If we could open fronts, similar to those in Lebanon and other
regions, against Israel, this will definitely prove effective in
backing the Palestinian struggle," Ismail added.
The Sudanese foreign minister ruled out halt to popular Intifada
(uprising) in the occupied lands, saying this meant "submission" of
the Palestinian people to the racist Israeli regime.
"If the political, financial and moral support for Intifada
continues, the uprising ... will definitely force supporters of
Israel to submit to a just and peaceful settlement," Ismail said.
"Support for the Palestinian people should be multilateral and
necessary pressure must be exerted on Israel in the international
arena by world communities," he added.

Sudanese state television quoted the commander of the paramilitary Popular Defence Force, Major General Ahmed Abbas, as saying the camps had been set up under a directive from President Omar Hassan al-Bashir.
The commander said the camps were ready to receive any number of volunteers, and he called on all sectors of the Sudanese population to join what he called the holy war against Israel.
...and a couple of legs.
