Statement of a Petition to the Israeli Government [My Title]
Jews Against the Occupation ^ | Open | Unattributed

Posted on 04/06/2002 9:08:03 AM PST by Seti 1

To: Israeli government; international public opinion

We, concerned Jews from around the world, continue to view with horror the consequences of military repression and economic blockade of the Palestinians by Israel. Israel and the Palestinians are not equal partners in a peace process. Israel is a nation state equipped with an army and highly sophisticated weaponry; the Palestinians are a dispossessed people, living under Israeli military, political and economic control in a territory fragmented by expanding Jewish settlements.

The calculated act of provocation organized by Ariel Sharon at Haram el-Sharif, with the agreement and support of Ehud Barak, set the region ablaze. This was possible because the situation was already potentially explosive as a result of the Israeli delaying tactics and refusal to recognize a Palestinian state whose proclamation has been repeatedly deferred.

Israel gains legitimacy for its actions by claiming to act in the name of Jews worldwide. As Jews, we deplore antisemitism and all forms of racism. We support the co-existence, on equal terms, of Palestinians, Israelis, and all other peoples of the region and call for an end to Israeli aggression and oppression.

We urge Israel to uphold the human rights of Palestinians by:

* immediate, total and unconditional withdrawal from all of the territories taken by force and occupied in 1967
* recognition of the Palestinian right to national self-determination, to return and to compensation, and the implementation of steps towards the realization of this right
* abolition of all discriminatory laws, and the introduction of full legal equality between Jews and non-Jews
* redistribution of resources and a massive program of international aid to rehabilitate Palestinian communities.
Only an approach based on these elements stands any chance of leading to the conditions for a just peace in the region

These are Jews with a warped self hatred, and guilt for having survived the holocoust. They believe that if they are nice to those that hate them, they will be allowed to live in peace. It's said that the meek shall inherit the earth... This sort of thinking ensures it, in plots 6'x3'x6' deep!

More Bravo Sierra from JINOs who hate Jews and Americans.

Isn't this JINO organization in an attic with two old peaceniks and an AIDs infested JINO homosexual, who hates Jews, Israelis and Americans?

Seamole, I'm sure that you have the index about the reality of this JINO who hates Jews, Israelis and Americans, who heads this attic group of three maybe. Please post the index with the data on this group and the head it!

They are traitors, afraid of their own nation's success and victory, fearing that they will be harassed, and maybe (What a horror!) even driven to leave to Israel, a state that they are supposed to belong to. They are of the same breed of Jews who helped Nazis load the trains to death camps, thinking they will be rewarded with life - but they were all loaded on the last train. They do not care about their nation, their people, and blood of Jewish soldiers who died protecting Israel and Jews from enemies means nothing to them. They only fear for their skins, while they are unworthy even to lick a toes of those soldiers who are now fighting in Jenin. They are a disgrace to our people.

These are not Israelis; most are Americans. Surely you're not suggesting dual loyalty.

immediate, total and unconditional withdrawal from all of the territories taken by force and occupied in 1967

these folks would have a bit more credibility with me if they'd try just slightly hard in their phraseology to recognize that Israel has acted defensively in occupying other territory. That is not just an opinion -- it is a fact. 1967 is probably the best example of that fact.

The scribes of this petition, however, could think of no way to add the 2 or 3 words it would take to balance their rhetoric just a little.

In their omissions they represent their inability to be even-handed.

... to recognize that Israel has acted defensively in occupying other territory.

The Romans conquered most of the known world with exactly that excuse. The Israelis want all of Greater Israel--from "river to river" (Nile to Euprates)-- which they believe was given them by G-d. What is defensive about building settlements?

Horsehockey. There is no way you can equate Israel with the Roman Empire. The only territorial expansions of jewish territory have followed unprovoked attacks by their Arab neighbors. If the Arabs had not attacked, then they would still have their land.

I think you missed a few days of Ancient History 101. That's exactly what the Romans did. However, I was not equating the two except for their similar excuse for taking over other people's land.

The issue is not ancient history it is your attempt to equate the expansionist Roman Empire with Israel. Israel has never launched a war of expansion or agression. Isreal was not the agressor in the wars of 1948, 1967, and 1973. Israel has given up most of the land acquired during these wars and has shown a willingness to give away all but that necessary for it's defense. And, the desire to hold such strategic land, purely for defensive purposes, is fully understandable after being attacked three times in twenty five years, don't you think? If you're such an expert on ancient history, when did Rome ever agree to give up land?
