Live Thread: President Bush and Prime Minister Blair Press Conference, Noon EST, 4/6/02
self | Saturday, April 6, 2002 | Kristinn

Posted on 04/06/2002 7:49:04 AM PST by kristinn

Live from Crawford, Texas, it's the George and Tony show.

Will George slap Bill and Yasser around again like he did last night? Will Tony come off as George's toy poodle? Will the press be their usual boorish selves ? Is Helen Thomas there ?

The answer to these and other questions will be answered at Noon eastern time.

Thanks friend. I don't pay much attention to those kind of comments anymore. I am a bit out of both mainstreams in that I still do not trust our government. Some people take it the wrong way. Hope your day at the Pentagon went well.

I'm trying to talk my wife into heading up there on the 20th. I have concerns over where this war may be heading but I still support it at this point and would enjoy seeing all of you again. Ever since our second child was born two years ago it has been tough to get away.

Howdy

I accept that liberal versus conservative, left versus right, is a specious canard. hitler and stalin, castro, pol pot, all the same, tyrants, the blight of humanity.

You're correct, right wing and left wing is a false distinction, fold the page over and there is just freedom and slavery.

I will take my place among the free. As will most of those you confoundingly choose to snipe at, really sir, I beleive you are among freedom loving patriots.

We've always said, 'family first'. It would make it a special day indeed to see you (and your family?) again.

I love my nation, Mike. I believe that we have the capability to correct many problems not just within our soverign land but around the globe.

We can't continue to be a world cop. It is leading us into the loss of our individual rights.

Thought you'd been sipping a little to much firewater there Buckaroo.

I understand your objection to draining American blood and treasure to assuage the terrible wages of tyrrany around the globe.

I even understand why you are so upset with our government acting abroad after the disgraceful record of abusing our military resources in the nineties.

It is understandable, one of the most harmful consequences of the clinton presidency is a loss of faith in our public sector institutions.

Yes, most of the rest of the world spends a lot of time and effort attempting to place a bit in our teeth and a harness on our shoulders, and they had a willing partner in bill clinton, it was an outrage.

Where we depart is in that I have faith in the character and person of President George W. Bush, his stewardship I find worthy of my trust and he gets a lot of lattitude as a result.

Where clinton was willing to spend our resources and spill the blood of our young folks in uniform the way that a bum spends a lottery windfall, I find that President Bush is only willing to engage these priceless and limited assets to protect and defend the American People from real and present danger.

I share your love for this greatest of nations, let history judge the outcomes of President Bush's actions. clintons legacy is economic travail and war, let us hope that President Bush's legacy is the opposite.

I am optomistic, we have a tremendous amout of work to do in dealing with economic calamity, this terrible struggle against global terror, and reversing the damage to our institutions of government wrought by eight years with diseased enemies of truth, justice, and the American Way in the White House.

Already the INS that placed a red carpet at the feet of terrorists is being taken apart, root and branch, to be replaced with a new agency which will serve the American People and not some addled leftist dream of global villiages, no more world cop, just the sane and level headed preotection of vital US interests.

Take heart. If the record of history showed that people like clinton were the norm in political leadership, your cynicism would be justified and the American experiment would have failed long ago. This is not the case, our great nation is going through a very difficult time with these liberal barbarians, but they are failing fast because the outcome of every single effort they have ever advanced has been destructive to freedom and disasterous in human terms.

Trust the wisdom of the American body politic, it is going to be OK.

No, he would never run for office. He hates government, remember? It would be against his principles to become part of it.

Excuse me - but I don't believe the Supreme Court has ruled on that yet! Aren't you kind of jumping the gun with your accusation - so to speak??

If you need the Supreme Court to tell you that a ban on political speech 60 days prior to an election, among other atrocities of this bill, is unconstitutional, I feel very sorry for you. Even feebs recognize that.

They found about 60 million doeses that may or may not be effective. And may or may not be effective diluted up to 1/10 the way they think they can stretch the current supplies.

That doea not help the British as there are 280+ million Americans, 20 million Canadians and God only knows how many Mexicans that will need out vaccine supplies first in the event of a small pox outbreak.
