I stand with you Sir, for two thousand years the entire planet languished without a beacon of hope, no liberty, only tyrany, slavery, subjugation of the weak, early death.
The ancient Greeks tried freedom, and the experimant was a success.
Now comes America, alone among nations, we recognize that the only just formulation of government is founded on the soverign power residing in the will of The People.
Now we agree on the brilliance of the American Experiment, and I think that you understand that the rest of the world is still shrouded under varying degrees of the darkness of tyrrany.
You can lead a horse to water...
Europe is particularly perplexing, so accustomed to tyrrany are they that they insist on going to their knees before authority, to them citizens are as children before their benevolent leaders, and so they subscribe to a socialist form of government today, even as they celebrated their enslavement by royalty a generation ago. If we follow the EU, their fascination with all powerful central authority will lead the world into yet another global conflict.
But at least, though a pale reflection of this Free Republic, the europeans accord their citizens a great measure of freedom compared with the rest of the planet, which resides under the frowning horror of totalitarian dictatorial control.
Poverty is the inevitable result of the absence of freedom. To prevent themselves from being ejected from power, dictators explain their citizens poverty as arising from the exploitation of shadowy evil figures from far away, focusing the discontent of their squalid victims away from their thrones. Even as these bloated parasites live in opulent luxury, they strive to create abject misery in their populations, and propagandize to use their smoldering anger as the tool to keep them in bondage.
People who can read are carefully controlled in these nations, and people with advanced educations are viewed as potentially dangerous enemies of the state if they are not part of the ruling group. Which incidentally, is why each communist takeover is follwed by a bloodbath of epic proportions, when the friends of tyrrany here in the USA got us out of Vietnam, over a hundred millions died in bloody purges in Vietnam and Cambodia.
So, anyhow, a vast ocean of humanity hates you and wants you dead for imagined offenses that they have been led to believe have caused their poverty, while their leaders laugh at them and live in opulent luxury. They "ride the tiger" so to speak.
This is the world we live in. It is vital to our existence that we be able to trade with other countries, we are a maritime nation dependent upon free trade and open sea lanes for our continued existence, thus we can not live in a vacuum.
We have to be able to move about and trade in a world inhabited by billions of deluded slaves who would have us dead, and among countries which have no respect for the principles of our Constitution.
Sometimes we have to fight.
If you read the Constitution ( I keep a little booklet with me for odd moments of reflection) you see that the founding fathers understood all of this, when it is necessary to put down a murderous fanatic band, our government has the authority and the duty to send American sons to secure our liberty from those who would do to us what they do to most of this beleagured planet.
Well, I hope you find some logic in this, I am weary of pecking away at this keyboard.
I love my nation. I despise my government.
TO SAVE YOUR SORRY A$$!!
And ... that is your problem!
Yes, because 17% of the vote went to a 3rd party. Without the 3rd party, it would have been 55% - and no Clinton for 8 years. Thank you very much!
And just what are YOU doing to save us?
LOL!! This was one of his points (?) I believe. Somehow, I seriously doubt that anyone in the government wants to take pictures in any of our bedrooms! What does it say about someone who thinks it does?! Talk about paranoia!
And I still say, Somalia would be the perfect place.......no government at all there.
That's a little fact that these fellows seem to forget. They lost sight of the big picture, and we got 8 years of corruption and filth.
Well, then, who would you suggest play the role of world police? The UN? China? Russia? The EU? Al-Queda? A newly formed United Islamic Federation? Argentina?
Can you put together a post explaining your position consisting of more than 50 words?
I do enjoy your playing devil's advocate, however, which makes everyone else explain their positions in detail. Nice work. But what's yours in a minimum of 200 words?
Now I'm Adolf Hitler. tehehe! Their playlist is really short. Sooner or later they get to Hitler.
He was Governor of Texas - what did you want him to say?? Actually, knowing his morals, I don't think you would have liked what he would have said. Besides, what does the President's opinion with impeachment have to do with anything?? This is just another attempt to try to destroy Bush's popularity numbers. Sorry, it won't work with me.
Do you, or anyone else, think that it will be struck down by the SCOTUS? If some can be so sure that the unConstitutional items in CFR will be struck down, how can the same people ignore the alleged unConstitutionality of CFR?
