I got hooked on "grits" when I ( Northern boy, from Chicago) I first had them in a civilian restaurant in Meridian, Miss. One of my good friends, Jerry Poole, was from Lagrange, GA, & he used to take me home with him, where his Mother would make the BEST grits, not to mention, biscuits & gravy, I EVER had. Now I got me a cravin'...........

I grew up in Chicago too. Never aquired the taste for grits, but biscuits and gravy, now you're talking.
