Why are we negotiating...won't that open the door for attacks from other media outlets...like we are giving up?

I guess that's why I'm NOT on the negotiating team. ;)

I'm glad you know that. We all can breathe a little easier now.

C'mon Joe, the sky isn't falling. Nobody is going to sue FR becuase they think they'll get a few bucks out of it. FR doesn't have any assets to speak of, it operates from quarter to quarter on fundrasiers not of Jim's doing. Think about it.

While were on it, do you honestly think Jim is going to sign a settlement that includes a million dollar payment? All the Post wants is for us to quit posting full articles. They know we have no money and Jim is not going to ask Forum participants to pony up that kind of money, he would probably declare BK before doing that and the Post knows it. At best, they may get a few thousand to offset filing fees, but nothing on the damages and nothing for lawyer costs.

If Jim settles, we start excerpting and linking and all other publication entities will see that and go away. The original nature of the Forum will change some, but we will still be here, still posting and still FReeping.

Do we live in the same world..EVERYONE wants a piece of somone elses property..it is the American way

My guess is there will be others. Closing your eyes not to see the oncoming train does not make it go away. FR had "nothing" when this suit was filed..and they still filed didn't they.

We had best be prepared..

Rendell may not have the "charm" of JFK, but I meant that he is the kind of eastern big-city liberal that the Kennedys admire. Casey is more in the HHH political school. Of course, both JFK and HHH carried PA!!!

Just that not having tangible resources does not protect you from litigation

My guess is this is just the start, not the finish. We will see....
