The Federal Drug Administration has ruled that an implantable microchip used for ID purposes is not a regulated device, paving the way for the chip's immediate sale in the United States, the manufacturer announced today.
For the past several weeks, Applied Digital Solutions has worked to get its VeriChip -- a biochip containing personal data that is similar to devices used to identify lost pets -- classified as a non-regulated device. On Thursday, the company's wish was granted.

"We are so thrilled to be part of this," Leslie Jacobs said, scoffing at privacy and religious concerns. "When they find out what this is really about, and that it can save people's lives, they'll change their minds."

Jacobs' wife, Leslie, believes the chip could become a tamper-proof way to identify people in an increasingly insecure world. Somebody needs to smack that b!tch right upside the head.

Some people are nuts. Those who warm up to government proposals to track humans are insanely trusting.

"The Federal Drug Administration has ruled that an implantable microchip used for ID purposes is not a regulated device..." Oh, this is reasonable! The same FDA that sets standards for food coloring and requires a nutrition statement on lolliops, claims that a device designed to hold your most sensitive personal information and is IMPLANTED INTO YOUR BODY should not be regulated?
And just wait until they figure out how to connect into your nervous system and play ads 24 hours a day. That will be called "free speech." But speaking out against a candidate 30 days before an election is NOT free speech. Sheesh.
Beam me up, Scottie...

(aka Stalin) and every tinpot dictator since 1945 having a strong affinity for such people.
