Arab Surrender Plan
Updated on 2002-04-02 10:05:46
Last few days have seen a flare up in the Middle East. The very last thing U.S.-led global coalition on terrorism ever wished for. Nevertheless, the intensity and mounting casualties have struck at the heart of everyone in the world.
The United Nations swiftly passed a resolution by 14-0 demanding Israel pulls out of Palestinian areas. Israel army and tanks have taken complete control over areas previously under the control of Palestinian Authority. Israel has put President Arafat under military siege. Israeli President Sharon called President Arafat a terrorist making it clear President Arafat is going to be murdered soon to bring an end to PA era.
The Arab Summit produced unanimous acceptance of Saudi led initiative of formal surrender of all Arab countries. The so-called peace plan is in fact acceptance of defeat and surrender as it makes pivotal concessions. For decades Arabs have fought to deny recognition to Israel and have sought to destroy it. The surrender plan accepts Israel as a neighbor and calls for formal end to hostilities.
However, for Israel this surrender is 35 years too late. Israel no longer needs to nor is interested in entertaining neighbors who have no real clout on the world stage, individually or collectively. Hence, Israel has boldly rejected the Peace plan.
