Scarry stuff when you think of the future black ops and population control implications....real scarry. Makes the British 2 million camera survalence seem like childs play.

Hey Stavka2, I know it's not often that we agree but this is terrifying stuff. This is right out of A Science Fiction Nightmare, no way are they going to stick that $hit in me, no way.

I read a SciFi novel, which described implantable computers with terabytes of information. I'm waiting for those.

Yes scary. One thought, though, the chip might be useful implanted in an Alzheimer's patient.

VeriChip is expected to sell for about $200.

Haven't we learned anything from the internet revolution? The first few thousand copies should be free. Let's test the market a little bit first, ha.

The company said production would begin immediately.

Who are the customers?

BTW, wouldn't it be easy to plant these in a new born when it is taken from it's mother to be cleaned up, no permission given or solicited?

Is my tin foil hat straight?

... and if you behave, this chip will send 100V pulse down your spine. Such thing will quickly boost a loyalty to the government - or whoever takes control over the chip.

It's one thing to have a port put into your brain for direct downloading or remote control of a computer (already a reality) but to have a GPS follow your location? To have your personal information just a scan away...what about the criminal element? Can an identity thief just walk by you with a scanner and zappo have all your information and accounts? This has obviously not been thought through in the least and the senile leadership of most of the world who couldn't tell you how a toaster works are passing laws pro this...right after their special interest checks cash in.

I wonder if the G could figure out how to put a chip in an implantable Sacajewea dollar coin. That would solve two problems.
