This article misstated the age of the youngest of the children being held for months in a screening facility for the mentally ill. The youngest child held that long was 5 years old.
Foster children as young as 3 are being held for months in a locked crisis unit for the mentally ill in Orange County, often because the state agency charged with their care has nowhere else to put them.

Protecting the kids with sloppy work. That's the gov'ts method!
Do we have a CPS Watch bump list here or do I need to create one?
If anyone wants to get involved in this fight and REALLY educate themselves on it, go to www.profane-justice.org and order the book called Profane Justice by Suzanne Shell. If you have children, you need this book to know how to protect yourself and your family against the CPS jackals.
My children have been instructed to resist everything the agents of the state would try to do to them. Some of the tactics they have been taught are to be combative whenever in public with a CPS agent or state caretaker - scream, yell that they've been kidnapped by strangers, that they need help and they want to return to their parents and safe home.
Another tactic learned from the book that I mentioned in my previous post is to not break things in foster care, but to use them up/waste them. Things like dumping all the cereal in the sink and running the water, unplugging the refridgerator and freezer so all the food spoils, dropping all the toilet paper, paper towel rolls, and female hygeine products into a bathtub full of water, etc. All resistance must be non-violent so that the state can't easily claim that the child is a threat to himself or others. The state must provide, by law, certain things to every child in their care. The caretaker is not even allowed to withhold a single meal and must provide certain basic things. The idea here is to make it as costly as possible for the state to continue holding the child against their will.
They've also been taught to say nothing beyond "I've been kidnapped by strangers. I want to go home" when in the presence of an agent of the state - or just to play "statue" and say nothing at all - no matter what.
In addition, they've been taught to do absolutely nothing they are told to do if in the state's care. They should not clean up after themselves or perform any chores at all. They should make the agents of the state force them to go to school - possibly making them physically carry them there. In school, they are to do the work but to not turn it in. If asked why, and at any other opportunity in school, they are to say "I'm doing this to protest that I've been kidnapped by strangers, I'm being held against my will, and I want to return to my parents."
They will have, in their possession, a 1-800 number specifically set up for kids like this to report the abuses against them in state care. They will be able to use this 1-800 number to get information to us and our attorneys about any abuse they are receiving and any retaliation that is occuring because of their resistance. That information will be used to help get the kids out of the state's hands and to sue anyone and everyone involved in their abduction and any subsequent abuse/retaliation into oblivion.
If you don't think this can happen to you and your kids because you don't abuse your children, then you're terribly naive. I've personally seen CPS take away a relative's 3 children for 3 years on unsubstantiated charges (he did not abuse his children). I've personally seen CPS engage in retaliation, break the law, abuse the rights of parents and children, and any number of misdeeds.
