ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, April 5 (UPI) -- Investigators said Friday they have found some code words in an al Qaida hideout that could tell them more about terror suspect Osama bin Laden's whereabouts.

Senior Pakistani security officials told United Press International the codes were found in a building in Faisalabad. Last week, a joint FBI and local police team arrested one of bin Laden's key aides, Abu Zubaydah, and 18 other al Qaida suspects from the same building.

But it could disrupt their ability to communicate for a critical period of time.

Short term. But long term, you sit on it and don't announce it to the world. You use those code words to break other code words, and harvest the information to the point you're translating their messages. That would outweigh any "possible" disruption of communications.

Announce to the world that you have the codes? Exactly, stupid isn't it?

Ahem...in the interests of accuracy, that's Chuck Berry, not Johnny Rivers. Johnny's cover of Memphis is one of the first songs I loved.

Who washes who's back?

Hop in any big city cab and you'll know this isn't so. These animals don't bathe.

This is funny. So Alqaida now is a degenerate alchemist sect. The FBI will have to be trained in transmutation. Hope they find the gold.

Bingo! Imagine in WW2 if the Brits announced when they had captured an Enigma machine or we announced when we broke the Japenese diplomatic or naval codes.

The presstitutes are morons.

I tend to agree with this assessment. There would be a very limited number of reasons for announcing to the enemy that their code had been broken.

1.)If a temporary destabilization could produce a decisive victory in the short run (unlikely).

2.)The codes were really not that valuable in the first place. Announcing that (useless)enemy codes have been broken might lower the moral of the enemy (a little more likely).

3.)The enemy already knows that their codes have been compromised...what the heck, might as well get something out of it, even if it's just a PR boost.(very likely).

4.)We have some really, really, really stupid people in control of the war effort (maybe).
