For those following it, this is the second excerpt from "Trodden Under", Volume II in the Dragon's Fury Series about a Third World War that arises out of current circumstances and world events.

As a result of some very horrific terror attacks within the borders of the US - see the first excerpt - (which follow events that culminate Book One), the president makes these startling decisions. The entirety of Volume II should be available in late May on the Official Web Site

It should then quickly follow and be available on the various other web sites in either Trade Paperback or Ebook form, including:

Amazon.com
Barnes and Nobles
WHSmith
PocketPCPress
KBS Books
Powells.com
Bookbooters

and others.

FRegards.

You must have the most wonderful wife on earth. How is it you find the time? My book is laying in a drawer still on NOTEBOOK paper....does that tell you how long it's been??? I need a wife. I'm jealous.

Printing for a later read!

You can order Volume One at a B&N brick and mortar store ... but it is not stocked. You will have to give them the ISBN number. Here it is - ISBN 0-9715779-1-9.

They do carry it on their online store ... HERE

They will order it from the same people who deliver Amazon's (Lightning Source which is owned by Ingrahm) and have it mailed in.

She is the most wonderful creature under God's Hevaven ... but my activities and the involvement push the envelope sometimes.

But, without our liberties, there would not be an envelope to push ... for any worthwhile endeavor.

I'm grateful she is patient and understanding and pray I am always worthy of her affection.

We're working on that from the top end with the agent.

A ground swell from their stores certainly couldn;t hurt ... but there are so many stores and so relatively few people know about the book to date. It's sort of a catch twenty-two until some large publisher picks it up.

Either way, I intend to put out all five books.

Thanks and regards.

Thanks for the ping, Jeff. If this excerpt is any indication, it appears that Chapter Two will be at least as intriguing as Chapter One.

You do not appear to have suffered 'burn out' following the publication of 'Breath of Fire.' Rather, 'Breath' seems to have, instead, lit the spark that is burning even brighter now in 'Trodden Under.'

(faith + courage + strength + wisdom + vision + resolve = success)

In this particular excerpt, I am especially moved by:

In this sense, the actions of the President are not nearly as precedent setting as those of Abraham Lincoln during the civil war when entire states sessions of legislature were cancelled and legislators imprisoned based on how they might vote during the secession question.

A very insightful reference to Lincoln's terribly wrenching decisions (which, in effect, suspended the Constitution), and which I know must have caused him incredible personal distress (....and which, along with other decisions, I believe he intended to undo, had he lived to be able to do so).

Also extremely effective:

While the nation was smaller and much more agrarian, while the means of communication and travel were slower and while the firearms of that day were not as advanced as those of today, one thing that has remained the same in the human heart. Those men understood human nature and allowed for it in an inspired way in putting together the government that has endured for so long. In the midst of establishing it, they themselves stated how critical an armed populace was in preserving the government that they created. All other considerations aside, I will put my faith in what they crafted and in their own words concerning it.

Amen.

Looking forward to curling up with Chapter Two this weekend. :)

I share your convictions regarding Lincoln. Everything I have read, including a lot of his own writing, indicates to me that he was focused on preserving the union, and then quickly bringing the southern states back into the fold and maintaining much more state soveriegnty than what we ended up with.

In fact, I believe his determination to do so in the face of the money grabbers, elitists, scalleywags and carpetbaggers who had other intentions (which unfortunatley were the visions that ended up bearing swaty) figured heavily into his assassination. Just my opinion.

I look forward to your input on the whole of Chapter Two.

The name of the junior Senator was a little more subtle ... Crater=Boxer ... LOL!

These excerpts don't really do justice to all of the behind the scenes and sub plot activites that are going on in support of them ... but they are not bad short reads.

Hope you get a chance to get all of the books.

Regards.
