Interesting their choices of headlines. I have read the speech a couple of times now and it is decidedly directed at the Palestinians and the Arabs. I see a serious reprimand and a warning to the Arab nations. He also called Arafat a failure.
Rush is hammering on the Israeli angle too.
I heard all of Bush's speech, and it is amazing what the liberal news media chooses to use as headlines. The emphasis of this speech was the lack of leadership of Arafat, and he all but called him a bold-faced liar. His criticism of Israel, if you want to call it that, was asking Sharon to pull back a bit - GW gave full support to Israel. More pressure was put on the the Arab states, but you would never know that by reading the "mainstream media's" interpretation.
I loved his speech - it was forceful, consistent, and educational. Like my husband stated simply after watching the first Gore-Bush debate: "Bush is a leader, Gore is not". And this is one more example of his leadership.
