Peace in the middle east will occur when Palestinians love their children, more than they hate the Jews.

OH WOW, that's a great one! I think I am going to have to pass that one around.

I'm a little nervous about the US getting involved in this one.

You should be a LOT more than a "little nervous" about this. Israel and the Israel-firsters who are also American citizens have been trying to drag us into this for a long time now. These are the same people who want us to attack Iraq.

Not only would it become a regional war, but my fear is that it will be the beginning of something bigger, and global.

Yup,and it could easily turn into a world-wide war. Europe seems to be backing the Palestinians, and so does China. There is no doubt at all that if we get into this,we will be backing Israel. I say let them fight their own wars, and let the Israelis who are living here and pushing this crap go to Israel and do a little of their own fighting if they feel that strongly about it.

I know this might be crazy to say but I am glad they did it. Powell is going over there to try to get Israel to back down

I know what you mean. That's exactly what I was thinking this afternoon when I heard Bush speaking (Rush played it through). I thought how it irked me to hear him say that but what if that is just a ruse and he KNOWS it's because the Arabs won't listen to him... and then people will hopefully more clearly see the evil of the neighbors of Israel.

Israel's nukes are mostly neutron type weapons I bet...little fallout and blast damage, but you have a lot of microwaved arabs. When you have so little territory to defend, you can't really use 10 megaton bombs.

"We will have peace when we love our children more than we hate our enemies."

The New York Times printed the statement somewhere in the time frame of 1986 - 88. The speaker was a Lebanese citizen. It was quoted in my church bulletin and posted on the fridge for years. Sounds like it stayed with you, too.

the proof-text being, and in the Q'umran scrolls (not to be confused with that other "book"), which verified the Old Testament, show the Israeli claim to the city by their king at least before 1000 B.C. ... David took the city from the Jebusites, it is true ... that puts 3,000+ years of Jewish history in the city ... now the Romans killed or drove *nearly* all of them out in 70 A.D. of course ...

Muslims want peace with everyone but they want a peace that Guarantees nobody has the right to destroy others' religious buildings, and no right to "orchestrate" their destruction.

Well, that certainly clears up what happened with those huge budda statues in Afganistan. There are so many contradictions with the content of that link and the behavior of the radical Muslims. Choosing a side is becoming much easier because of their behavior regardless of what they profess.
