WEST PALM BEACH -- A teenager who faces a murder charge in the heart attack death of a Palm Beach County sheriff's deputy is being kept in juvenile detention after his first appearance before a judge Monday morning.
On Sunday, William Robert Waters Jr., rushed at deputies after they found the 17-year-old Lake Worth High School sophomore lying on the ground at the Casa Del Monte trailer park, according to reports.
The deputies, including Donald Lee Schavolt, 48, were investigating a loud music complaint when Waters kicked Schavolt in the leg. Schavolt later collapsed and died at Wellington Regional Medical Center, apparently suffering a massive heart attack.
There is no word yet on whether the State Attorney's Office will charge Waters as an adult.
Authorities said they have no choice but to charge the teen with second-degree murder. Waters committed a felony -- resisting arrest with violence -- that resulted in Schavolt's death, a sheriff's spokesman said Sunday. Waters could face life in prison.

Rather than deal with the root cause--namely, the legislatures of the several states and the laws they enact that police are bound to enforce--you take out your wrath on the police.
You misunderstand my remarks. I've met folks over the years who have the sort of venom that eno_, Pern, and several others on this thread show towards any and all police, and showed the same whooping and rejoicing every time a police officer died. In EVERY case, that hostility was coincident with their engaging in activities defined as felonies under the California State Penal Code. Perhaps I could be forgiven for assuming that there might be some form of causal linkage between the two phenomena.
In short, the police-haters are worried that they're going to get caught one day.
Rather than deal with the root cause--namely, the legislatures of the several states and the laws they enact that police are bound to enforce--you take out your wrath on the police.Oh of course, how silly of me. The police unions are the voice of reform, and their lobbyists are busy every day working to repeal corrupting siezure laws and to enact laws that would make it easier to get rid of bad cops. I must raise my voice in chorus with these fine people.
Police NEVER lobby for revenue raising speed traps, and NEVER lobby against laws that would take ticket money away from department budgets. Yup, all those bad laws are just part of how us civilians oppress the poor police.
In short, the police-haters are worried that they're going to get caught one day.Ha. Ha. Ha. With the miserably bad solution rate for property crime, if I did go around burglarizing houses, getting caught would be the last thing I would have to worry about. Pejoratives? The numbers say: lazy, incompetent, stupid, grasping, anti-Constitution, corrupt, dissipated, addicted, angry, unfit mentally and physically, with a personal life that is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.
Like having a "assualt rifle" that you father gave you and is now been deemed to be illeagal? or how about "failing to identify yourself", "or failing to pay your taxes", (there's a dangerous one), I would submit that persons like poobah and others would have been on the british side during the revolutionary war. They take comfort in the frim rules and being told what to do.....They see no problem being forced to jump through through any laws at all as freedom frightens them. Others, like myself, have some serious problems with the growing monster of the police state. Asset forfiture for no crime, secret trials, corrupt courts, (been to some), random searches of our children, and the ever growing list of what is not permitted. They do not see that there will never be a limit to the nonsence of the police state until some people say enough is enough. The latest craze for the dimwits in CA, is legislation to monitor and regulate the number of sodas your child drinks.....it seems they have now decided our kids are too fat.....tyranny will expand until it reaches a limit....that is the simple fact. The real shame is the people who can't see it.....
But I realize you think they're just "victims," poor misunderstood people who are "oppressed" by "Da Man!"
A thug grabs an elderly woman's purse and runs off. She chases after him and has a heart attack. He is caught, charged, tried, and convicted of murder. There's no difference than if he had kicked her in the chest and killed her. Perhaps ideologues like to excuse personal irresponsibility, but rational, civilized people don't.
Sounds like classic suppressed homosexuality to me. Come on, out of the closet, you will feel much better.
