Well, .40 S&W or .357 SIG wouldn't be too bad either, and 9x23win is just downright cool (If Kalifornia didn't have a hi-cap mag ban, that's what I'd go for, a Para Ord with an 18-round
clip magazine).
I wonder what the scriptures say about choosing the right caliber? We should hold a rabbinical Talmudic debate.
I guess 9x19mm Luger is out, and so is .40 S&W (sell out & whine). .45 ACP is an American caliber, whereas .357SIG is Austrian or whatever... I guess .45 ACP would be the most appropriate handgun caliber for Jews.
The real question is whether high-velocity 9x23win is better, or heavy .45ACP rounds are more Jewish. That could be a difficult question to resolve, but thankfully, Jewish scholars can debate anything, for hours on end.
And another question: Was it Kosher for Pershing to grease those pistol rounds in lard before he had the Filipino terrorists shot?
Would it be Kosher for the IDF to grease their bullets in lard before they went off to war?
