Thanks for taking-up-the-slack!

No slack to take up ;-)

The ole world atlas is a constant companion these days though. What I'm looking for is a really detailed map(s) of Israel, Iraq, Iran and the Middle East- online naturally. When we first got kicked off in Afghanistan, one Freeper had a really kick a$$ map of the country. It was huge- megabytes worth. I saved it and cut it up and printed it. 14 A4 pieces of paper. Painstakingly taped 'em together and now I have a big map of Afghanistan that I have to lay on the floor to view properly (Home Improvement's Tim Allen makes urgh urgh urgh gorilla noises). I don't know where he got it though and I'd kill to come across similar maps of the countries I listed. Any ideas?

Well, I haven't paid too much attention to that stuff about Mapping and Geodesy for a couple of years, but you might try a Google search... look for:
CIA website.
Carlos Castanda (sp?) Library at University of Texas.
The National Reconnaissance Office (I don't know if they have a website)
Defense Mapping Agency.

Finally, you may want to get the old wallet out and see if there are any airlines who would sell you some ANC's (Air Navigation Charts), or they may be able to tell you how to get them...

Last I looked, most of this stuff was being put on CD Roms... so you might even try Amazon to see if they have any.

Sorry I can't be of much help, wished you had asked the question 3 years ago! LOL!

"...Dont get me wrong, Saddam has to go. But why target Iraq right off the bat, When we have nations like Syria and Iran that OPENLY support terrorism... "

Military Logistics, pal. Like USAF Base-Kandahar in Afghanistan was a no-brainer before the first bomb dropped, (Yes, I knew it would be Marine-Base-Kandahar first! Geez, ya gotta head-off the jarheads before they get pissy!), and taking Iraq out first, neuters the other nutball Islamaniac Countries in the region, and lets' Israel finish its' job.

Kuwait, Qatar, and Yemen, scared-shitless right now, are gonna be our launching-pad to topple Saddam, and once Iraq is neutralized, the Arabs and Persians are in deep-shit.

We also get a lot of oil-control, some seaports, and a bunch of Air-Bases in the belly-of-the-beast that is Islam. Better to fight them there, especially since we already know the terrain...........FRegards

"Of the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service, the SAMS officers say: 'Wildcard.Ruthless and cunning. Has capability to target US forces and make it look like a Palestinian/Arab act.'"

It's not that the Mossad is as good as everybody thinks,it's that most countries ignore their operations for internal political reasons. I'm sure the US is no exception to this. Even if we were to tumble to the fact that the Mossad was running a false flag operation,I seriously doubt we would ever take official notice.

And instead of attacking Iraq(which makes no sense) Maybe he will give more thought towards Iran, Syria, and Saudi Arabia... The REAL axis of evil

Not a bleeping chance of him attacking the REAL root of modern Islamic terrorism,Saudi Arabia. His family makes money from them, and so do the families of most other politicians, one way or the other. It's not just oil, either. The Saud family has a lot of stock in banking, manufacturing, retail sales, etc, etc, etc. The relatives and friends of too many politicians set on their boards drawing big bucks for any real effort to be made against them.

As for Iraq,Bubba-2 is going to attack them. It is as inevitable as the sun coming up tomorrow morning. Israel and the Israeli lobby in the US want it done,so it will end up being done. It's that simple. Besides pleasing some of the big money people with influence, attacking Iraq allows him to appear to be "doing something" about terrorism in the eyes of the ignorant. Meanwhile the Sauds will use their money in the background to get other people to do all the fighting and dying.

Let's hope that your hypothesis is soon tested and found to be nul. No matter how these mohammedans may fight, they have to be defeated now that they have attacked us outright. Remember Pearl Harbor and the WTC!
