A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 3/27/02

President Bush signed the controversial Campaign Finance Reform bill today as Mitch McConnell immediately filed suit against it. Bush later headed to South Carolina where he spoke to Emergency First Responders in Greenville. He also stopped in Atlanta, Georgia at the Georgia Tech Institute of Technology where he watched drills demostrating response to terror attacks. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Oh get over it you once issue supporter. Why do I get the feeling that had he voted to allow stem cell, you would have abandoned him? Or Kyoto? Why not just say $uck the Republicans altogether and vote democrat in 2004. That will solve everything.

I guess when you really want to stick it to McCain, you sign the bill on the way to SOUTH CAROLINA and then have a staffer call McCain's aide and tell him you signed it.

I guess when you want to get MEANINGFUL CFR you avoid the obvious veto bait and keep the issue out of the dem's hands, so that hopefully you can get a Senate elected and some JUDGES appointed.

I guess when you are running a WAR you don't have time for this stuff that is nothing more than petty political junk. Instead, you get the bill where the SC can decide it.

Now go to one of the many Bush-bashing threads.

You can choose to bury your head in the sand, but I won't be joining you. Just because I think Bush is better than Gore does not mean that I think Bush is a real conservative. He's not. He was just electable.

I like him, I'm proud that he's my president. But, lately, he has been letting me down. He reminds me of a Republican version of Clinton.

You are missing my point. Rant if you must but this thread is not the place to do so. I am certain that there must be plenty of threads around Free Republic where you would feel right at home tonight.

If you're "proud he's your President" why don't you try supporting him instead of bashing him.

He's smarter than you are. He knows what he's doing.

And he hasn't betrayed anyone.

If you liked him, you wouldn't compare him to Clinton.

Attention Lurkers: Please note how the anti-Bush people are rude and insulting! These are not the people who will attract many converts!

Why would he have signed a bill that is flawed, according to him? And the regular posters on this thread are all capable and free to disagree with G.W. Bush now and then, otherwise, this thread becomes a censoring tool for those who don't celebrate everything the President does. We all desire to see our rights preserved, therefore, courteous disagreement must be permitted here and throughout FR.

So, are you saying you like him but won't support him? Or, are you saying you can't stand him and will vote for someone else who is more 'electable' in 2004?

There are many of us who have chosen to STILL support the President even though we may disagree with some of the things he's done. Where is the reality in expecting the President to agree with you on absolutely everything he does? It's nowhere. Because that reality does not exist no matter how hard we try to convince ourselves that it does.

But consider this. Think back two years ago... and now think of what the alternative could have been. Cripe, even Rosie O'Donnell admits she didn't like GWB, but even she supports him now. I am simply amazed that it takes one issue, one issue, to dismay so many people.

He reminds me of a Republican version of Clinton.

This is a totally idiotic statement that proves you to be a fool. Take your inane comments to another thread and bash your little heart out there.

There are nasty people all over FR who agree with you..........but the people on this thread are bright and well informed. You can't get away with your nonsense here.

Apparently a couple of losers lie in wait to pounce on this thread.

One only needs to question their motivation for visiting this thread to know that they are nothing but disrupters. They have to know that they won't find a sympathetic ear on this thread. They just want to bug us, and we would ALL decide to ignore them, perhaps they would tire of their little game.

courteous disagreement must be permitted

You're right BUT they're still wrong.
There's nothing courteous about their invective, innuendoes and name-calling.

I can say I'm really disappointed in W signing CFR, for instance,
but you won't hear me questioning his integrity, intelligence, or patriotism.
Many of the detractors on this thread can't type a single word without acting childish.

This is a totally idiotic statement that proves you to be a fool. Take your inane comments to another thread and bash your little heart out there.

There's no need for childish, personal insults. If you would like to meet in person, I'm sure you would be a lot slower to talk like that.

You think there aren't a lot of republicans who feel a little like Bush reminds them of Clinton? You don't think he is signing this CFR because of the enormous popularity of the bill? That seems a pretty clear case of votes/poll-numbers over principles.

I like President Bush, and I do support him. However, that does not mean I'm just gonna sit quietly by when he makes enormous mistakes or shows major lapses in leadership.

Signing the CFR bill into law when he himself is so apologetic about its unconstitutionality etc is pretty sad to me. It does remind me of Clinton, i.e., Clinton signing Welfare Reform written by the Republicans just because it had overwhelming popular support, meanwhile he didn't believe in his heart it was the right thing to do. And that wasn't even an unconstitutional bill.

I would encourage you to refrain from making personal attacks and calling me names just because I happen to be more vocal and honest about my dissapointments with Bush. I also cheer out loud when he does the right thing. Reasonable people, especially people on your team, deserve a lot more respect than that.
