Ministers here for an Arab League summit yesterday completed a draft communique of harsh anti-Israeli rhetoric that belied the conciliatory tone of a Saudi peace plan to be discussed later this week.
The formal statement, to be finalized by presidents and prime ministers from 22 Arab nations tomorrow, reflects generations of pain and hatred rather than the more generous tone of the Saudi land-for-peace initiative.

One of the most closely patrolled borders in the Middle East is the Gaza-Egypt boundary in the Sinai. The Egyptians don't want the Palestinians in their country, and never have. Thus the answer is to drive them out of Gaza into Egypt. In six months they will all be driven west to Mauretania where no one will hear of them again.

Arab Parties Central Committee calls for solidarity with Muslims
Amman, March 28, IRNA -- The Central Committee of the Arab National
Union in a statement addressed to the Arab Summit in Beirut called on
Arab rulers to support Iran against the US threats and to show
solidarity with Muslim states.
The statement, a copy of which was made available to IRNA,
said solidarity with Muslim states was important strategy for the
Arab states.
The Chairmen of the committee Eshaq al-Farhan also urged Arab
heads of state to offer any kind of military, political and
financial support to the Palestinian people's Intifada. He also
called for severance of any form of ties with Israel, cancellation
of any agreement signed with Israel and closure of all embassies of
Israel in the countries.
The statement called on Arab leaders to overlook the proposals
and plans that ignore full restoration of the rights of Palestinians
and Arabs. It said Palestinians right for repatriation should be
taken into consideration.
