Believe whoever you want. All I'm saying is that Knight treats every game like a championship game, and that's a bad formula for winning the actual championship game. A coach needs to recognize that through the course of a season his/her team will compete in less-than-prime conditions, and go through ups and downs. It's the coach's job to help the team keep an even keel and direct the team's energy toward doing the things it needs to get better. Recognizing this, a team will be mentally ready to compete when it absolutely needs to be, as opposed to mentally exhausted.
