Old Samantha is making the Mayflower Madam look like a truck stop tart. $15,000 - Holy Cow - [but still cheaper than getting married, as some would say.]

Women are easy. Men are very, very, very picky.

Sadly, this is true at every income level.

Alright, here comes a shameful admission.

I once used a dating service.

It was THE worst use of my money (not 15 grand, but substantial enough for my poor self) I have ever made. I achieved one actual meeting in something like 18 months, innumerable rejections. (Women aren't picky, puh-leez).

And here comes the fun part.

My wife joined a service, too.

The same one. We missed each other by a couple of months (she joined after I decided to call it a loss and never make THAT mistake again).

She had about as much success as I. To wit, none. So she gave up, too. (Although I will say this: at least she got a couple of dates. From her stories, they were nuts, but still, that's better than I did...)

We met at a singles dance, and got married 14 months later.
