America's number one anti-gun spokesperson Sarah Brady reveals in her newly released memoir that she purchased a high-power rifle in December 2000 as a gift for her son.
"I can't describe how I felt when I picked up that rifle, loaded it into my little car and drove home," she writes in "The Good Fight." "It seemed so incredibly strange: Sarah Brady, of all people, packing heat."
Mrs. Brady bought the Remington .30-06 rifle, complete with scope and safety lock, at a Lewes, Del., gun shop, reported the New York Daily News.
After her husband James was nearly killed in the 1981 assassination attempt on President Reagan, Sarah Brady became the nation's most celebrated advocate for gun control.
In initial press runs Friday, the News reported that Brady "may have skirted Delaware state background check laws" inspired by her anti-gun crusade.
That revelation prompted the gun rights group, The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) to request a federal probe into whether she broke Delaware's gun laws when she failed to tell the store the gun was for a third party.
A Delaware Justice Department official initially told the News that Brady's third party gun purchase "may" have violated the law, but later said Brady had done nothing illegal as long as her son was legally qualified to own a firearm.
Responding to the initial report, a spokesman for Mrs. Brady insisted she had indeed informed the Delaware gun shop that the rifle was for her son and filled out all the paperwork she was asked to.
No, no, you're not listening! Everyone has come back (Delaware AG, NY Daily News, Sarah Brady) and said that Sarah had done everything by the book, no laws were broken by the purchaser, she filled out all the forms that she was given to fill out, she told the owner the rifle wasn't for her....good grief, if somebody broke one of the 20,000 gun laws on the books, you certainly can't blame innocent l'il ol' me for not knowing...that's the job of the gun shop owner!!!!
end rant, right?
We definitely need more laws, and maybe federal gun shop owners?
With the controls placed on shop owners vis-a-vis requiring a Federal Firearms License, maybe we already have 'federal' gun shop owners?
I dunno, just a thought!
"Oh, me, oh my, isn't this just TOO much? Why, Ah'm sure that even those kooky right-wingers who want smaller government would agree that it would be ever so much easier to just get rid of those silly old guns, and then we can get rid of the 22,000 gun laws and replace it with just one! See? Now everybody's happy!"
The next step for the Socialists?
Seems like a joke to her doesn't it? Standard hypocritical liberal.
