I had a work associate that had an interesting faith. He was a fundemental Christian...The full "Accept Christ as your personal savior" kind. He said the church he belonged to, really wasn't a "Religion" because they thought man had corrupted "Religion".
No offense but the best description for them was Hardcore Christians...
They believed the bible was absolutely, specifically, literally true... The world is only about 7000 years old... The Lord created the world in 6 days...Literally... The dinasoar fossiles are actually five or six hundred year-old (At death) "Giant" normal animals (Something about people and animals living to be 500 years old back then?? I always wondered why the people didn't become dinosaur-size too)... There is absoltely, positively no other life on other planets..."God created Adam and Eve, not Adam, Eve and E.T."... One interesting point was that so called "Primitive Man" (Or, I should say their fossils) are actually just midgets and physically handicapped people (Thus, the differences from us).
He even said the moon landings showed proof of the universe only being 7000 (I could be a bit off on that number, by the way). He said they calculated for a "Moon Dust Depth" based on Billions of years. And when they got there, there was only 7000 year's worth.
And I have NO DOUBT he believed all this.
Religion is interesting...
