Muslim schools accused of undermining Dutch values

EINDHOVEN, Netherlands (AP) — The Tarieq Ibnoe Ziyad elementary school looks a lot like any other Dutch school. The kids lug Mickey Mouse school bags and study in Dutch.
They are also children of Muslim immigrant families. Once a week they study the Quran and religious subjects. The girls wear headscarves and attend sports classes without the boys.
Last month, their school was one of several identified by an Internal Security Service report as a possible threat to the Dutch way of life.
The Tarieq Ibnoe Ziyad school, which has a student body of 208 children, all from Somali, Moroccan and Turkish families, strongly denies the charge.
The report said one-fifth of the 32 state-sponsored Muslim grade schools in the Netherlands received financial support from fundamentalist Islamic organizations, and warned they may be indoctrinating the children with anti-Western ideas.
Some of the schools were linked to Dutch organizations connected to the Libyan secret service and the militant Palestinian organization Hamas.
Meanwhile, the popular television news program Nova claimed in a special report that the children were being taught “to battle people until they acknowledge that Allah is the only God.”
The report came as a shock to a country that has seen little evidence of Islamic fundamentalism even though nearly one in 20 residents is Muslim.
De Telegraaf, the country’s largest circulation newspaper, carried a front-page story the next day under the headline “Muslim schools source of hatred.” The report prompted calls from legislators across the political spectrum to end subsidies to the schools. And there are signs that sentiment against Muslim immigrants is growing. In local elections March 6, new far-right parties that advocate closing the borders to new immigrants scored heavily against the mainstream parties.
Minister for Integration Roger van Boxtel warned against the rising anti-Muslim tide, and blamed the elections for the “hysteria about the integration of Muslims.” Van Boxtel said the security service report drew an inaccurate picture of the schools as corrupt.
Vincent van Steen, a security service spokesman, said none of the schools were visited before the report was issued, and were singled out based on financial records that linked them to radical organizations.
The report, entitled “The Democratic Order and Islamic Education: Foreign Interference and Anti-Integration Tendencies,” said the Tarieq Ibnoe Ziyad school is sponsored by the Al Wakf Al Islami foundation, which it described as a “radical Islamic organization.” A spokesman for the foundation, located at an Islamic center across from the school playground, said his organization had no links with the state-funded Muslim schools.
The principal, Jos van der Looy, said the charges are “complete nonsense, and we can prove that.”

a possible threat to the Dutch way of life.

This may not be such a bad thing. The Dutch only rank slightly above the Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys when it comes to morality.

Strange, I am a Dutchman living in the Netherlands, and even I agree! It's time that my fellow Dutch people stop the moral decay: the drugs, prostituation and crime. I am sick and tired of the way the governement is flushing everything down the drain. On May 15 there are elections in the Netherlands, and the polls show a landslide to the right, and it's about time!

Culture does matter, and not everything can be reduced to a neo-con economic grid.

From: Why the Osama video is real: the Holland connection (Dutch Jihad Walkers MUST READ)

Islamic educational books encourage hate against non-believers

From NOVA TV, by Peter ter Horst en Siem Eikelenboom

In the Netherlands there is a systematic distribution of fundamentalistic and hate-encouraging texts from extremistic muslims.

Nova (Dutch newsprogram) has done an investigation of the politic islam in the Netherlands and discovered that in many of the texts there is a call for hate against Christians, Jews, woman and homosexuals.

"I have been given oders to fight the people, to wage war with them, until they confess that allah is the only and true god and mohammed is his prophet", is one of the texts in a book that is currently in use by some schools for childeren aging 4 to 12 years in the Netherlands. The educational books are from the foundation Al Waqf from Eindhoven (Dutch city), that holds connections with Saudi-Arabia.

Criminal code expert A. Ellian from the university of Amsterdam says that the educational books from the foundation Al Waqf from Eindhoven call out for hate. In one of the studybooks from Al Waqf the teachers are instructed to motivate their "students to behave like conquerors".

Foundation Al Waqf aslo has a youthorganization where on the internet a cyber-imam answers a lot of questions from young muslims. Questions on this site are about the way islam teaches about homosexuality: "... the argument (about the punishment of homosexuality) that is amongst the "learned" is only about the way of how the punishment has to be; some say that the person needs to be beheaded with a sword, others say that he has to be tossed from a high point and then to be stoned".

The Amsterdam mosque and the foundation El Tawheed have spead a flyer where there is a warning about Christian celebrations/holidays: "How can you join the festivities from the enemy just as if it where you're own?". Also on the website of the foundation is stated about how muslims must deal with neighbors that are non-believers; "Advised is it not to live amongst them" and "We must never make friendship with them".

Minister Van Boxtel of Immigration reacts in NOVA about these statements. He announces a BVD (Dutch NSA) rapport about the influence of fundamentalistic muslimorganizations on education. This rapport is due somewhere in 2002. Also Van Boxtel askes, after the NOVA broadcast about this information, his collegue Hermans from Education for better control on these issues.

I live a 30 minute drive away from Eindhoven!

"Dutch values"? Like euthanasia, legalized drugs and prostitution? No wonder they call it the "Netherlands."

A Swedish citizen with whom I work here in the States tells me that there is fierce anti-muslim sentiment in Sweden and much of Europe and tells me constantly that a bloodbath of anti-immigrant reaction is on the horizon over there.

A friend of mine know a member from a nationalistic studant organization. They train themselves to stand up one day against the jihad they expect in the Netherlands. They learn how to shoot and to fight.

Just like the muslims: on www.maroc.nl there used to be calls for armed jihad and it ordered the Moroccan youths to go to shooting ranges and martial arts clubs to get ready. Also guns were offered for sale there for usage agianst the Dutch people. The site was raided by the BVD (Dutch NSA) and the thread were removed.

One of the two Moroccan Dutch men killed in Kashmir used to post radical things threre too. They went to Afganistan for jihad but were send away at the border. They then went to Kashmir and got shot by an Indian border patrol.

Although many muslims here do not care for jihad, there are still a lot that do:

'Moderate' Islam in the Netherlands: The Trukish organization Milli Görüs

Let's hope it stays peaceful here.

"...tells me constantly that a bloodbath of anti-immigrant reaction is on the horizon over there"

How is that to be brought about? Revolution, shooting in the streets, just what does that mean?

"Don't they know that these people are trouble?"

It was assumed, even here in the U.S., that immigrants could be assimilated into a nation's culture, that they would learn to speak the language and adopt the values of the host country.

The latest wave of immigrants from Muslim countries has changed that expectation, and it took Western host countries a while to figure that out. Now that Westerners realize that they could lose their national identities to these immigrants, there is an understandable backlash.

It is true. In the town I work, Roermond, there is one such a school too. It was founded by a man that is involved in one of these organizations.

The Dutch people are very PC so they allowed such things. It's not bad that they get tehir own education, but they abuse it in a very bad way.

Since the 1960's a lot of guest-workers came from Turkey and Morocco to work here. They were asked to come over to work here.

Also a lot of 'refugees' come here, about 40.000 a year, just as much as countries like Germany (Denmark only allowes 6.000 a year)(since 9/11 the number went down sharply). Almost all are muslims.

But the tolerance has gone away:

Group-rape of girl cover up attempt uncovered in Holland
Group-rape of girl cover up in Holland - an update

People are fed up with their behavior:

Half of the murderers committed are being committed by Kurds (and some Turks) and are drugs related, almost 70% of the jails are inhibited by immigrants or the 3rd generation children of immigrants, according to a jailer, confirming the statement of the Chief of police in Utrecht. In Amsterdam 62% of crime committed by youths is done by immigrants, noting that in the 38% Dutch figure there is also the 3rd generation children of immigrants. But the most shocking: the police in Rotterdam accounced that of the street robberies there, 1% were committed by Dutch nationals and 99% by forgeries! Of this 99%, 45% were Antillians, 38% Moroccan, 16% Turkish/Eastern European.

As I said: May 15 will be an historical day here: the landslide to the right in the next elections!

One day, in the distant future, the folk of the West will be writing and saying: "Got to hand it to that Bin Laden feller: he's the guy who accidently awoke the Western world to Islamic barbarity, fundamentalism and extremism. But for him, the West might have slept through its own demise, with visions of politically correct and multiculturally diverse sugar plums dancing in every mushy, sleepy head until the very end."
