We had wars, wife beating, you name it. We've been there.
Finally we have learned to get along . . .sort of . . .look what it took . . . but we still have some maturing to do. The first lesson in maturity is not to arrogantly condemn another religion across the board.
Those who were doing these things were not following the teachings of Christianity, though they sometimes called themselves Christian. However, the Mohammedans who oppress, kill, and destroy really are practicing the ideals of their religion.
Why not?
What you describe is pretty much the state of primitive barbaric society worldwide then. It was normal.
The rest of us abandoned primitive behavior centuries ago.
Why should we continue to tolerate it in any form today?
There is no excuse for it.
People today must be judged by what they do today not what they can whine about from 600 years ago.
Specially pathological lying cultures must be judged by what they do, not by what they say.
The difference being that our Bible does not tell us to do these things unlike the koran. What we have done in stupidity, arrogance and ingnorance in the past, we were not told to do by our God. Islam's god commands these things.
Now, what about the kidnappings, revolutions, terrorism, piracy, slavery, and suicide bombings? And more importantly, where are the Bible verses encouraging Christians to wars and wife beating??
Take a look see at the koran and the Bible, then at the first 500 years of Christianity and Islam, and see if you still come up with some equivalency.
So it would be a sign of your maturity that you accept the Aztec religion with its "heart rending" human sacrifices, the murderous Kali worshipping Thuggees, and the South Pacific cannibals??
How mature of you.
Perhaps we should judge them by their teachings and actions.
