The McCain cabal, at work again. They have enlised Chuck Hagel to carry some of their dirty water too.

Since none of the above have a clue as to what was said by Cheney to anyone, let alone the Saudi's all the speculation is just pure fiction, as usual from the Weakly Standard.

Center stage is all yours.... For all the world to see as you've bad mouth the current administration's handling of the events..... Assuming you were given the power of naming the person to take over immediately and correct all the mistakes, go for it....

Who would you have running the show right now?

If only HE were in the administration....

That sounds "vaguely" familiar; perhaps one of his friends feels the same way.

I never dreamed Bush/Cheney/Powell would squander the support of the American people is such a fashion.

We must not be watching the same news reports.

I sometimes have BBC News on my 'puter speakers, and I just heard an extended report by a corespondent who had been on Cheney's Mideast tour. Sort of a "what goes on from an insider's viewpont" type of thing. Surprisingly, the report was quite positive with respect to the Veep.

I'm sorry I didn't listen for the corespondent's name, and I have no idea whether it will be repeated. FWIW, it was broadcast at about 5:35 EST.

Were you Mr. Cheney's personal aid on this trip?

Were you, it seems he is prepared now to meet Osama's cousin for negotiations or a photo op ...

It seems someone has forgotten the plances racing into the Pentagon and WTC ...

Before you make this kind of statement, you may want to read Dick Cheney's resume.

I'd laugh if it weren't so sad and serious.
Our capital was attacked.
Our men, women, and children had to leap to their deaths.
No, I don't want us to negotiate with Islamic terrorists and their supporters.
The only thing Cheney should have discussed with the Saudi prince was "how high."
America is diminished.

We must not be watching the same news reports.

Just watch what they do
when the House of Saud comes to visit.
It is first a compromise, then a betrayal, and finally an obscenity.

groveling

You better hope this administration does not fly off the handle, stomp their feet and throw tantrums. Do you remember how this administration handled going into Afghanistan? How many thought they are too slow, they won't act? Yet, they showed that they are deliberate, carefully weighing all options and taking the best option. They are focused, well planned, well executed in their endeavors and we should be thankful.

It won't take much to start an all out war in the Middle East and once started will not be stopped without much bloodshed. I would suggest letting the top experts we are blessed with in this administration handle this.

In addition, we have the oil problem. Remember that? We are dependent on the Middle East for our oil. Without that oil we will be in real economic trouble as we can't run this country without oil. We have to tread lightly in all matters of the Middle East because we can't get our own stupid enviros and Daschle Democrats to allow us to be independent of the Middle East.

LOL.... It's one thing to have at least an idea of that person or someone's name in mind that you feel fits that discription. But then a lot of keyboard jocks are all bark and no bite, toothless, just gum up a good bone. Someone suggested Barney Frank and that's appropriated since no other name is forthcoming that fits the 'warrior-leader'.

Who would you have running the show right now?

I would suggest letting the top experts we are blessed with in this administration handle this.

So you are in favor of the Colin Doctrine. The EU can invite Hussein and Bin Laden to join Arafat and meet Cheney. Kofi Annan can mediate and negotiate a capitulation on the part of the Bush administration that will prevent further bloodshed.
