If you press a leftist on this inconsistency, he will say that what he objects to in the perdophile and pederastic priests is their hypocrisy, i.e., the combination of sexual acts that are wrong according to traditional thinking and outward espousal of those contrary traditional beliefs, or at least public membership in an institution that stands for those traditional beliefs.
Since we know that the true religion of the left is now sexual license, and that, even if the left still, for the moment, disapproves of sex between prepubescent children and adults, the left in fact now approves of sexual acts, emphatically including homosexual acts, involving adolescents. So, for the left, the priests' fault isn't the sex. It's the failure to militantly and publicly defend the morality of that sex.
