In light of the media's fascination with sex scandals in the Catholic clergy, it's worth noting that many of them virtually ignore other cases of pedophilia.
Hardly anyone made a fuss about the disgraced Bill Clinton's pardon of disgraced former Rep. Mel "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" Reynolds, D-Ill., a crony of Jesse Jackson.
And there have been countless cases of teachers in government schools sexually exploiting the children they are supposed to teach, but the media don't show much interest here either.
To understand the double standard, just look at the media establishment's agenda: government schools good (no matter how bad), black Democrats beyond criticism.
They are reported locally when there is an arrest. That is about it. Few go national. The problem in government schools is far bigger than in the Catholic Church and the same cover ups are occurring, teachers are shifted from one district to the next, background checks are not done and the unions defend the perverts until the jail doors slam shut. Over 100 FR posts of teachers sexually assualting kids are on my profile. That is just what I've found on this forum in the last few months. Imagine how many more there are.
I already disagreed with your central assertion. The papers constantly run stories about child molestations.
Regarding my previous question, why do you feel there was no attention paid to the pardon issued by Clinton?
Separate issue but probably because of the left leaning press.
And once again, what do the Boy Scouts have to do with this?
When the big story was about homosexuals infiltrating the Boy Scouts there was an uproar here at FR. When we have widespread admitted raping of kids being done by Priests and wholesale covering up of the rapes being done by the Church leaders it should be a far, far bigger story.
The fact that these Priests are not going to prison and the fact that those that protected and continue to protect them are not going to prison is an abomination aand much worse than the piddling Boy Scout controversy.
