When did the Post Office deliver the ballots?

What reason did they give for such a late delivery?

Actually, you are asking a fair question. We might note that since 9/11 mail service has suffered. First off all the airplanes were grounded. Then several major facilities on the East Coast were put out of business with the AlQeada anthrax attack.

Makes me think these Maine Democrats are taking advantage of the war to pursue private agendas.

It's overdue time to round'em up and ship'em out!

I mailed a Priority Mail Package from the North Windham Post Office on February 19, 2002.
Destination was a Westbrook, Maine street address
The two are about 10 miles apart.
Delivery was on March 4, 2002.

Feb 19 to Mar 4 is 13 days, for a package to go between two post offices that are an easy drive. I ended up meeting my client in person on Feb 23 and 24, mailed a Patent Application to the USPTO on February 25th, and had the Domestic Return Recipt in hand BEFORE the local Maine mail was delivered.

Your mileage may vary.
