Maybe something is up, but I'm not surprised after the two Americans were killed and others wounded in church last weekend.

Looks as if Allah may be getting some more residents soon.......

I don't think it is related to the Daniel Pearl murder case. The old order was issued on Monday. The US government knew about this court case on Monday.
Something has happened since Monday that has not made the press yet. Perhaps they were planning to start kidnapping Americans or the US is planning covert operations inside Pakistan. I'll stay close to FreeRepublic this weekend for any new information.

"All U.S. Non-Essential Personnel Ordered out of Pakistan "How about ALL US citizens come home from everywhere. America first, let the world solve their own problems. George Washington was right - no foreign entanglements.
The business of America is America.

I suspect they just uncovered a terrorist plot to kill Americans there. Duh. You think? Oh yeah, government...takes them a file to figure things out.

I bet that's one smelly shower.

How about ALL US citizens come home from everywhere. Although an evacuation of ALL Americans from Paksistan might be appropriate, I don't think the US will be stronger by withdrawing from the world. America's global presence has made America stronger.
I'm sure Pat Buchanan would agree with you though.

You're probably right. The fact that Powell made the phone call to Musharraf from Monterrey also indicates a breaking development in the situation. It had to have been a new, specific, and credible threat.

My take is that our pusilanimous State Dept finally realizes that Musharef is in deep doo doo. He is unable to control his Islamics, many of whom are ranking military and ISI officers. When we allowed the so-called Pakistani advisors free airplane rides out of Afghanistan notwithstanding they were Taliban and al Quada supporters that had to tell you something. Perhaps our State Dept is buying time in order to lull the Islamics to sleep before the fireworks begin. But if they're waltzing around the sh*t pile then its appeasement and continued enablization of the dangerous Islamic mindset.

It, in a way, is surrendering to a terrorist objective Old saying: Don't wish for your neighbor what you wish for yourself.
The terrorists might have a faulty list of goals.

We might start going after Al-Qaeda in Pakistan. Problem is, I'm not sure all of the people who hate us so much and are attacking us are part of Al-Qaida.

Greta Von Sustern had the Pakistani FOX consultant on last night. He said that the church bombing indicated complicity of the Pakistani police and secret service with the bomber. He said that the area where the church is located is usually very secure and that no one could get in or out of the area without being stopped. He said that it is an indication that Musharraf is losing control, that the terrorists have told him that if he wants to keep power that he will have to give in to their demands. He also said that we should note that on the same day as the bombing, Musharraf released all the radicals that he had previously arrested.
Musharraf has called for a sort of early election and guaruntee of a five year term for his presidency, instead of waiting for the fall election. This is probably so that he can reassert some authority, but until then, he cannot protect Americans.

It, in a way, is surrendering to a terrorist objective.I believe there was the same progression -- from travel warning, to voluntary evacuation, to mandatory evacuation -- before the Gulf War.
Tenent said last week that the threat of war between India and Pakistan is still high, but, of course, the media would rather focus on dog-attack trials and campaign finance.</sarcasm
