What's it like to be one of the most angry people in the universe, Mr. Alterman?

Not much worth reading here, even for amusement, but wait till Sullivan replies. That should be a hoot.

Angry and, in the main, intellectually bankrupt. I'm glad he vented here, some of his readers may log on to AS's sight and start removing the blinders...

What's it like to be one of the most angry people in the universe, Mr. Alterman?I take a certain amount of satisfaction that, while my days are largely filled with good wholesome work and fun activities and joy and happiness, that Alterman is somewhere, stewing and angry and seething with rage.

...he(SULLIVAN) posted a lurid online advertisement for unprotected sexper a FR thread, this was 'documented', after i think a denial by SULLIVAN that he was seeking a partner for "BAREBACKING"(take a guess what this means!!).

Who are the Dem politicians and Clinton cabinet members that Sullivan outed? This is the first I've heard of that.

Andrewsullivan.com sets a standard for narcissistic egocentricity that makes Henry Kissinger look like St. Francis of Assisi.
Right or wrong, this is one of the best quotes I've read since William F. Buckley said he would "...rather be governed by the first 1000 people in the Boston phonebook than the Faculty at Hardvard.

per a FR thread, this was 'documented', after i think a denial by SULLIVAN that he was seeking a partner for "BAREBACKING"(take a guess what this means!!).Sullivan did post ads on two such sites, but nobody ever proved he was ever looking for anything more than regular dates. (Supposedly, a lot of non-"barebacking" gay men prefer those personals sites because they're far more hidden in the background ... in other words, your family and friends won't find your ad seeking other men like they might on Yahoo Personals.) For Alterman to refer to it as he did is disingenuous at best; he's simply trying to smear Sullivan with as much mud as possible.
But then, there's a reason Alterman is considered one of the most hated people in the national news media by other journalists.

Sullivan has, moreover, been the target of much gay ire over the conservative content of his writings in The New York Times Magazine, where its editors inexplicably allowed him... WOW! A stunning admission of the blatant liberal bias. The "allowed him" to inject conservative content. Oh no, save the children! < /sarcasm>
Gimme a break.

...Now Sullivan has launched a career in the brave new world of "blogging," or vanity websites. And while his site arouses a certain gruesome car-wreck fascinationgee, wished he'd ID'd site....

SURPRISE!: The lefty poison-spreader, Eric Alterman, hates andrewsullivan.com! (This site is 'dangerous.' I make 'Henry Kissinger look like St Francis of Assisi.' Hes got such a gift for analogy, that Eric.) And Jim Romenesko - guardian of gay left media orthodoxy - links! My morning is complete. Can Michelangelo Signorile be far behind?

From
mediaminded.blogspot.com:
ERIC ALTERMAN WATCH: The media columnist for "The Nation" gave himself a hernia today heaping invective on Andrew Sullivan. It's the kind of piece that seems to be written for people who have never read, or ever will read, Sullivan's works. (Funny how the "progressives" can be far nastier than the "hard right" they're always railing against.) I wish I had more time to write about it, but I think this library will be kicking me off this terminal in a little while. All I can say is that if someone like David Horowitz had written something like this, there would be howls of outrage all across the media spectrum.

This one is juicy. According to Sullivan, Donna Brazile, Janet Reno, and Donna Shalala all went the other way.
To: Holden Magroin
What a disappointment! No news there. I believe it's been common knowledge that all three are lesbians.
To: Holden Magroin
Mind you, it's probably precisely because the orientation of the three is pretty common knowledge that Sullivan was willing to name them. He doesn't strike me as the sort of person who would genuinely out someone against the person's will.
To: Holden Magroin
I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you!

Eric Alterman, as a writer, thinker, political scientist, or merely human being, is not fit to black the boots of Andrew Sullivan. I do not agree with all the viewpoints of Mr. Sullivan, but I respect his work very much. His columns always make me think. On the other hand, I have zero respect for Mr. Alterman. His columns usually make we want to throw up. I am ashamed to be a member of the same race (human) as he is, apparently.
Does that about cover the waterfront?
