I believe 93 was headed into Washington and a major government building (one of two...you can probably guess which two). The reason that didn't happen is because the passengers chose to do something to make sure it didn't happen. It doesn't seem to be that great of a leap of logic, much less faith, to infer that Mark Bingham was in on the fight. He was a big guy. More to the point, he was a rugby player. It's my impression that whatever their tastes in romantic companionship, rugby players are not noted either for shyness or squeamishness. Dude was probably one of the first ones to get in on it.
The passengers on 93 who went after the attackers are heroes. I'm grateful to them. I think we all should be. Not acknowledging Bingham as a hero for what he did on that plane because of what he liked to do off it is, to me, anyway, an act of ingratitude. And a stupid one at that. Again, it's two separate things. And in any case, Mark Bingham's final judgment is now in the hands of the only Person whose opinion really matters. For what it's worth, I'm praying for him.
