Great in depth article, Tom Burnett's wife also says that before getting on the plane September her husband was having 'visions' of varoius sites in Washingtom including the White House.
Burnett, a devout Catholic took it as a sign from God that he would be called on to somehow serve his country in the nations capital.
When God commanded us not to steal or murder or be homosexual or participate in sexual crimes and other evil activities as defined in the bible (His word) he was being kinda "Hard-Line" don't you think?
Do not fear someone who can hurt you physically, fear those who can hurt you spiritually. Nobody can steal anything from you that G-d can not replace - except your willingness to submit yourself to G-d. The person suffering from Same-sex Attraction Disorder (SAD) doesn't try to do anything to your material world. If he did, you might be quicker to challenge him, even though your life is but a moment. But he does threaten your humanity and your relationship with G-d. Those last forever.
That's why, in Paul's recitation of the human slide into depravity in Romans Chapter 1, SAD is at the end of the list.
Shalom.
He does? These homosexuals sure have a lot of power. How exactly do they threaten my humanity and relationship with God?
You mean like murdering babies in the womb? They support it! They promote it as well. They fund it. They prohibit interference with it. They suppress attempts to even try to talk someone out of it or in any way interfer with it. Interference can be as benign as someone praying (Even silently) on the public sidewalk in front of the building. By not speaking out against something you are supporting it.
ROFL. All evil in your world can be traced back to either libertarians or homosexuals. You crack me up.
If that's what they believe then let them change their platform. Until they do that then they cannot claim to believe differently. I have reason to believe that most Libertarians support Abortion or it would not be part of their plank. If the Libertarians gain power it will not matter what YOU think.
He lays down the rules and we follow them -- Right?
Yes you have me in stitches as well.
They threaten your humanity by attempting to redefine it. SAD is a disorder that has, at its root, a fundamental misunderstanding of what it means to be human. Whether you practice it or merely accept it in others your own humanity is diminished.
As to your relationship with G-d, part of that relationship is submission to His will for your life. Submission means bending your will to His. You can not bend your will to His if you insist that there is a valid sexual response outside of His will. You will be in conflict.
G-d did not decide to ask us for partial submission. He asked us for complete submission. You can't hold out on sexuality but submit elsewhere and ask that to be acceptable to Him.
Shalom.
Personally, I'm heterosexual. I trust God will judge those who choose the opposite. In the meantime, I am willing to coexist, as opposed to jailing them.
How do we follow His rules? I think this is where our spiritual paths diverge. I believe the way to serve God is by the example we set in our day to day lives. We serve God by being good citizens, by raising healthy, balanced children, by living full, productive lives, by never harming another.
I can't cast apersions at another's lifestyle. It doesn't help me become a better person. I don't have to like what other folks do, but I won't judge another. If I find myself judging another person, there is something wrong with my spirituality.
Homosexuality is only the last step in sexual perversion. Are you pure? I know that you can't claim to be pure. I'm sure I can't.
I don't want G-d judging homosexuals (or me), I want Him forgiving them. But to do so they need to be brought to a position of repentence. G-d often uses human agents and governments to accomplish this task.
To "tolerate" SADs is to do nothing to help them. It means to suffer their presence until you can get away from them. It certainly doen't mean to have any concern for their souls.
How terribly compassionate of you.
Shalom.
