Two sources, In “ The Knights Of Bushudo”(SP?) A book about US POWs in Japan. When the writer decribes the beheading of a fellow prisoner. Prior to the event the victim very coldly accepting his fate, said he would keep blinking his eyes if he was still aware. They blinked for approx 15-20 secs.
Also during the French Revolution ( I don’t remember the source ) a simular event took place ,with simular results.
