Briefly, as measured in milliseconds I will buy in the case of clean decapitations. When there is a total loss of blood pressure as in the case of decapitation then the victim would lose conscienceness almost immediately, even if not cliniclly dead.
Even during fainting blood pressure is not lost so rapidly and anyone can see the results of that.
When speaking of a decapitation due to an explosion as is referred to in this article then conscienceness would be lost instantaneously due to concussion.
The chemicals that carry our thought processes do not work well at all when violently forced several centimeters off course. The bombers brain was effectively turned into the consistency of runny jello the minute the explosive wave hit his head.
If you will read my post closely (other posts back me up), you will note that when I clicked on it this afternoon, there was no "Very Graphic" warning. I chose not to respond to the post until this evening.
The terrorist atrocities of 9/11 happened in my backyard, here in the Northeast. I guess that you still feel nice and comfy in Texas and don't want to think or see what evil is occuring, just maybe it will all go away.
So would you advocate looking at pictures of a tarted-up JonBenet Ramsey to remind yourself that such kinds of child abuse exist, too?

The Palestinians are a brutal people in a brutal society. Seeing pictures like this is more likely to encourage rather than discourage them.

The problem is most folks do not get it. On 9-11 the news channels admitted to censoring the photos of all the people falling and jumping from the twin towers and other buildings.
At least his head is in one piece for identification. From what I hear on FOX News, there are thousands of pieces of people still being dug up at ground zero that are being tested using DNA for identification.
I am tired of censored news as it might upset the Public!!!!! It is time to show what the "face" of terrorism looks like as well as the aftermath. This is what the USA will look like if we do not win the war on terrorism, or until every American converts to Islam.
Back in the 80's, a film called "Scared Straight" showed teenagers what life in prison was really like. It was an eye opener and very effective. It took a lot of the 'glamour' out of criminal disobedience.
The world press needs to show the entire brutality of the story - not just the politically convenient brutality photos like Mohammed al-Dura ... but everything, fair and balanced.
Unless his name is Slobo, and Christian Serbs defending their soverign borders, against militant muslim fanatics they don't bother.
