WASHINGTON (AP) -- Click on Sen. John McCain's Web site and a pig appears, pushing a barrel with its snout, its tail tied to a banner that says "Pork Barreling."
The lumbering swine is a slap at lawmakers who use their clout to win federal money for home-state spending projects, and it provides a glimpse into McCain's style -- blunt, dogged, sometimes humorous, willing to offend.

A leading spokesman in the eyes of the MEDIA - not with any vet I know. McCain is getting less media exposure now; many outlets are interviewing CURRENT military personnel returning from Afghanistan and elsewhere.
About CFR. The downside of being so closely aligned to one particular issue is that when the legislation proves to be bad (which this is), or is overturned (it probably will be), McCain will forever be linked to FAILED or BAD legislation. He could well go down in flames - as he did before. (I couldn't resist).
Yep, he's an a-hole alright. But most of history's great mission-oriented achievers were too: i.e. George Washington, Andrew Jackson, Stonewall Jackson, William Sherman, Black Jack Pershing, George S. Patton; and they ended up being adored ...it is history's failures: Bill Clinton, Warren G. Harding, Millard Fillmore, (and future failures--Trent Lott, Phil Graham, Mitch McConnell, et al) who try to be all for all that scare me.
