Illinois voters find new technology at polls

Voters in the Chicago, Illinois, area will find new technology today when they arrive at the polls.

The most visible change will be in Chicago and suburban Cook County, where voters will still use punch cards, but now will be informed if they potentially made a mistake and will have a chance to correct it.

so they put in place a plan to make every voter's vote count. Now if they can put in a plan to allow only one vote per person...funny

Officials say in the 2000 presidential election, potentially 120-thousand votes in Cook County were not counted.

No. Notice that they still use punch cards there. They just have to make sure they punch stacks of unused ballots instead of those already used to vote, since they can no longer negate Republican ballots with double punches.
