If you cannot see what sexual permisiveness has done to the black community blah blah blah

We're not talking about "the black community!" Do you really think if a college girl sleeps around it's going to ruin her? Is that your argument, that if a girl has sex in college, she'll end up living in the inner city, struggling with a low-paying job? What negative consequences will it have, if she's careful and uses protection?

There's no parallel, blacks started out poor (because of racism, slavery, etc.), and they've ended up poor. Little rich college girls start out rich, they end up rich. It's funny how things work that way.

Drunk horny college girls are not known for being the world's most adept birth control pill takers. If they are pregnant then they will either abort (which I personally militantly abhor) or they will most likely bring a fatherless child into this world or perhaps adoption which is of course a wonderful alternative to abortion. However these days every girl who goes to college is hardly rich and the aforementioned events in her life will no doubt not be of no consequence.

Slutty behavior cheapens everyone involved including the horndogs. Why a woman would want to so willingly give away one of her primary sources of power to strangers in a drunken stupor is beside me.

If you think that the problems in the black community at large are strictly due to racism or slavery, you are quite wrong. Before the Great Society programs which coincided with the sexual revolution black families were only slightly less likely to be a 2 parent household than whites. Look now. Do you really think that the same type of collapse of sexual mores in the college community will not have the same type of destructive results...relatively speaking. The only difference is that the fall for blacks has been one of shorter distance to the bottom. Increased promiscuousness by middle class college girls will not have positive implications for all of us as whole....of that you may be sure.

Instead of applauding this as harmless or how is it irresponsible? your words previously, we should be working to discourage it and promote discretion.

I sense a theme of questioning the place of personal responsibility in your threads. I understand from your username you must like guns (hence Conservative by default on that issue) but are you basically opposed to societal morality in general?

It's not just a matter of "parallels." It's a question of the direction of our culture and the welfare of our children. Check out Myron Magnet's wonderful book, The Dream and the Nightmare: The Sixties Legacy to the Underclass. President Bush has said that (after the Bible) it's the book that most influenced his own philosophy of Compassionate Conservatism. The book is about the cultural celebration of promiscuity, a hippy-dippy notion that African-Americans should be praised for breaking down conventional notions of family life. Of course, what resulted in the Black community was the near-total collapse of the family--and the near-total collapse of civilized standards of behavior as well.

Today the phenomenon is being repeated among the more privileged, and their children too are fated to be victims of the Sexual Revolution. Magnet has edited a very fine book on that as well, a book called Modern Sex. It is beautifully written and cogently argued and should be required reading on college campuses today--replacing the feminist gender-bender junk that has become a staple there.
