Huh? The article isn't an attack on the girls for not taking responsibility, or for hurting or damaging other people. It's an attack on them for choosing to act in a way the author doesn't like, choosing to act in a way that is harmless. How is a girl's sleeping around irresponsible?

Oh, I dunno. Pregnancies and abortions, catching something and passing it on, reputation for going through men faster than a Mack truck through tissue paper...

Judging from your comments on this thread I think it is safe to say that anyone that "loves sex and likes your company" is a slut. You and your partner can get all you want and it won't change that fact. Get used to it.

I was saying that the girls who are deemed 'sluts' by their peers are ususally more fun to talk to, more adventureous and not boring.

I was trying to make a humourous point, instead of worrying about playing games and what other girls think of them most of the 'Sorority trollops' as the columnist says are actually a lot of fun to be with.

I won't discriminate against a girl who wants to be with me because some cheerleader says she is loose.

Yeah, he is an attractive man. No doubt part of his froce of argument comes out of being approached himself many times by college females since he is a gold mine for them, attractive and a professor.

Can't say I disagree with his premises. It was already going this direction when I began college in the late 80's, but then you could at least count on the truly slutty minority being from dysfuntional families and the others who had sex were usually with the same guy they first had sex with in high school and would never have had multiple partners.

Caddie as one of the same generation as this man(and the skateboarding crowd;-), I thank you and agree. I know many others like me that probably seemed very agitated and restless in the 80's and early 90's who are now die hard conservatives. All I can remember of friends of mine at that time is the brightest of the bunch really had a hunger for truth in thier own irritable teenage misfit sort of way--LOL.
