I really hate to give Daschle this much credit, but if he were to have leaked this information to the press to set himself up as Investigator-in-Chief of how this whole intelligence SNAFU occurred, then he could take out:

A) Al Gore - through association with the Clinton Administration
B) Hillary Clinton - See above.
C) John Edwards - Senate Intelligence Committee
D) Dick Gephardt - House Intelligence Committee
E) George W. Bush - Heir to the Clinton Intelligence Community shortcomings, and Watchman on Duty at the time of the attack.

Sounds like most of the 2004 Presidential Candidates, doesn't it?
