President Bush is really angry about the two visas that recently arrived at the Venice, Fla., flight school for Mohamed Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi, two of the hijackers of September 11. He says such a, shall we say, belated INS action is "inexcusable" and shows that our entire immigration service needs reform.

Oh no that will not wash anymore!
There is now a Republican President that can veto bills
This amnesty bill was passed by ONE vote..I hold MY Republican Congressman Jack Kemp soley responsible for it (along with the President that pushed it through)
Nice try but you do not have the liar to push around any more..you are no longer a victim..you are now responsible!
It was offered and approved by an overwhelming majority of Californians.
No surprises here ...the solution was felt to be unconstitutional by a single judge.
That same solution ... no broad, tax supported saftey net for illegal aliens remains just as simple and just as economical today.
Those, such as yourself who point to immigrants as hard working, productive members of our society should have no objection to this solution. But then I suspect you will.
<#FF0000>Loose lips sink ships. - and make lousy kissers.
The only way to stop it is at the ballot box. Vote for candidates who oppose this and do not reward those who support it.
That sounds like a good idea, but you realize that it wouldn't be enough to stop illegal immigration. Even if we build a 20-foot wall across the border and post soldiers every few miles -- which would be prohibitively expensive - some illegals would still find ways to get through.
As long as the standard of living in Mexico is that of a third world country, we will always see desperately poor people trying to cross the border seeking work or welfare. A family on welfare in the U.S. enjoys a higher standard of living than millions of working poor in Mexico. Wouldn't you do the same thing in their situation?
We don't have an immigration problem with Canada because Canadians enjoy a reasonably good living standard of living. Also, Canadians who can't or don't want to work won't come here for welfare benefits since they're higher in Canada.
Your proposed solution means more expenditures and bigger government and it will not completely eliminate the problem. Instead we could simply limit welfare to U.S. citizens or permanent residents. That would greatly reduce government welfare spending, which means smaller government while removing the incentive for aliens seeking welfare to enter the country illegally. We'd still get illegal aliens coming here to work, but those aliens add to our economy by providing a valuable commodity (labor) at a lower cost than American employees would accept. OTOH, the illegal aliens who contribute nothing to our economy would no longer have an incentive to drain our welfare rolls.
No argument there...buddy. I'd add that Republican Avenue is the same damn street, with nothing different but the sign. You'll find that at the end of his reign that Bush has sold out every principle you hold dear.
The checklist so far:
Bill of Rights - on the way out.
Open borders - on the way in.
National ID - here by 2004.
War - plenty of it.
Your slip is showing (the one with the pretty pink anti-war fringe).
I can blame Clinton for a lot of things, just like I'm very angry at the Republicans. Both parties are corrupt beyond repair. Actually, they are the same party with the same agenda. Where were you when Clinton was getting impeached? Which side were you on? Did Clinton deserve to be impeached, or more importantly should he be prosecuted for treason? You see, your argument that says that the Republicans have sold us all out is not valid, since BOTH parties on this issue are selling us out. You don't see Bush handing over secrets to the Chinese for Campaign Funds do you? I am however seeing Bush kneel down before the leader of the future Aztlan state if he continues placating the Mexican government.
My mom told me to think before I speak. I know sometimes that people can forget to do so. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
I'm a slow learner, but it's finally become clear to me that there is only one political party in America. The Demopublicans and Republicrats are really two wings of the same global-socialism party. One wing is pro-business and one wing is anti-white, but both wings agree that America's unique culture and heritage must be destroyed in the name of cheap labor and more profits for the elites.
There are ten of them following the Constitution.
No one saw clinton do it either. It surfaced a bit later. What we have seen GW doing is things like this, campaign finance, threatening to use first strike nukes if we feel like it, increased spending, making ted kennedy happy on education, federalizing airports, bailing out on qualified judges he's nominated, creating an entirely new federal agency for our protection, saying OBL is now irrelevant as we push toward Iraq, etc, etc....It's late.
But we did get a few measly hundred bucks back and he is fighting the "war" well. I do love him, at least he's better than clinton.
I believe you mean Jack QUINN, not Kemp. :-) In any event; don't let Quinn hog all the credit. Down my way, Van Hilleary SAT OUT on this vote last Tuesday night. He has been on the radio the past few days stating that, HAD HE BEEN PRESENT, he would have voted "NO". You were in Washington, Van...but not on the hill. Did anyone ASK you to 'miss' the vote last Tuesday, Van? Inquiring minds want to know...
Two Republican Jacks..and an aging brain (mine)
I hold Jack soley responsible..but you may hold your soley responsible too
