They are also reaping the "rewards" of lying on the stand (several times) and to the police even before they got to the hearing phase. When parents who have just lost a child aren't cooperating with the press or the police, and appear to be hiding something, the public almost always asks why, even as we are doing. Why wouldn't a parent tell who was at the house and when, if it might help catch a killer? That's just plain nuts, unless they have something horrible to hide. And I think they just might.

Maybe it's not lying but just not having much of a memory of what went on that night. It sounds like they were all pretty drunk and stoned.
